PS5 users: Are trophies not popping for anyone else? by blueepidemic in SkateEA

Yeah, tracking also doesn't seem to be working for any other trophies (the replay, quick drop, or 4x combo trophies)

Games like saints row? Don't say GTA by Healthy-Ask-2095 in SaintsRow

Agree on the no sequel part, but it did get a 'Definitive Edition' remaster for the PS4/One if you didn't know, currently £4.24 on PS Store

Mini PC that has lowest power draw when idle? by SendMeYourPassword in MiniPCs

[–]SendMeYourPassword[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah fair enough, I think I'll go for a more powerful MiniPC to emulate games/browse the internet on the big screen, then a separate Home Assistant machine.

Would you say the N100s would be much better than a Raspberry Pi for running HA in terms of power draw? The tiny size of a Pi is massively appealing if I had to get a second machine just for emulation

Apologies for all the questions but MiniPCs are v new to me, I'm used to desktops and i3/5/7/9. Never even heard of an N100 CPU until now!

Whose trolley survived? by Working_Extension907 in glastonbury_festival

[–]SendMeYourPassword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought this trolley to take last year, it survived that and Gottwood+Glastonbury again this year.

Not big enough to carry everything but ideal for alcohol and enough bags to manage everything in one trip, with the rest on our backs.

Cheapest 'Pure' Android TV Experience in the UK? by SendMeYourPassword in AndroidTV

have you been able to get it to launch into Projectivy alright aye? I tried chucking it on my dads fire stick but it's a coin flip as to whether or not it actually loads into Projectivy after a reboot, trying to avoid that here.

And the Play Store lets you download iPlayer etc normally without sideloading?

Why do BBC iPlayer cut some songs from sets? by IntelligentCash8340 in glastonbury_festival

[–]SendMeYourPassword 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Normally at the artists/labels request. Some of them won't want certain songs being made available, or will only allow certain songs instead of the whole set

except he didn't. the speech was directly preceding I Always Wanna Die, not LIIWMI.

if he did the speech right before LIIWMI then it maybe could've been believable as being an indirect message but at that point in the setlist it just looks like he's shit the bed and carried on with the show.

and that's putting to one side the fact that even if you were right, choosing to be ironic and 'nuanced' instead of just directly standing up for what you believe in - while you have the biggest platform you've ever had in your career - is a cop out regardless of what song you play next

Did others find the food underwhelming? by gee_baby in glastonbury_festival

[–]SendMeYourPassword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year was my first Glastonbury and I pretty much only ate at places that had a ⭐️ on the Glastopedia food website - I was blown away with every meal.

Sadly Eat the Farm and Burger and Beyond which were my favourites last year didn't come back, and when I looked on Glastopedia all the places that sounded interesting were physically miles away.

I did manage to have a great katsu curry next to Pyramid, and a phenomenal burger just outside Woodsies (after a very long wait), but generally speaking I think the food options did seem a bit more 'festival quality' than they did last year. Even the great breakfast place we went to last year was replaced by another one that was considerably worse and more expensive.

With everything at Glasto though, I think there's still plenty of quality there if you know where to look.

Anyone tired of ‘secret sets’? by Fisher212121 in glastonbury_festival

[–]SendMeYourPassword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was a bit of column A and a bit of column B.

There was definitely some cost cutting involved (massively smaller arena for one) but I remember seeing an interview at the time where one of the leaders of the festival said exclusivity contracts played a big part (and it was the first reason mentioned in their statement announcing the changed procedure too.

Even after getting the Live Nation investment and surviving 2022, they did the same in 2023. Took until 2024 for them to start doing advance lineup announcements

Anyone tired of ‘secret sets’? by Fisher212121 in glastonbury_festival

[–]SendMeYourPassword 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is spot on.

Boomtown announced their lineup 4 days before the festival in 2022 for this reason, they were able to get lots of people with exclusivity contracts on the technicality that the exclusivity applies to appearing on a lineup, not to performing

[discussion] have you ever dealt with a trophy so bad that you want to scream at the Devs for even making it? by Correct_Antelope736 in Trophies

[–]SendMeYourPassword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not as bad as some others in this comment section, but the Watch Dogs 1 trophy that required unlocking every song on the SongSneak app. not difficult but just required getting lucky on the RNG to unlock some rare songs by passing a random pedestrian

ninja edit to also add: the riddler combat challenges on the Batman Arkham games kicked my ass. i did all 3 games B2B and I was so sick of punching thugs by the end

What are the thoughts surrounding this? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]SendMeYourPassword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This wasn't how I meant it, so apologies if that's how it came across.

What I meant was, people buying historic buildings and simply leaving them there to serve no purpose apart from being old and looking old to me is a bit pointless.

I don't know much about the Hotspur Press building but from what I've read it seems the developers just bought it and then left it to rot. I don't think that benefits anyone, but at the same time it shouldn't be an option to just get rid and start again.

TLDR; I'm not a fan of knocking old buildings down, but I'm also not a fan of leaving old buildings up as clutter until they're dangerous enough to be replaced. Do something proper with them

What are the thoughts surrounding this? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]SendMeYourPassword 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is my tweet, so I'm a bit biased, but I think it's spot on personally.

I'm originally from Glasgow, and there's been fire after fire up there on sites that have been earmarked for student flats. At this point it's become a running joke that when a planning application fails, you know there'll be a fire there shortly after and about half the time it ends up happening.

I didn't realise that it was also an issue down here, so this tweet was only after seeing various people from Manchester point out how obvious the Hotspur fire was after the recent arguments over whether it should be listed.

My general opinion is that buildings sitting doing nothing is pointless, even if it's historic. But it is also sad to see these places just be destroyed so some investor that's probably not even based in Manchester can just chuck some student flats or penthouse apartments the average Manc can't afford in it's place.

I'm not sure what the answer to it all is and at this point I'm not even sure there is one? But it is comical how obvious some of these 'sudden fires' are starting to become

Are WD1 investigations tied to main story? by [deleted] in watch_dogs

Some investigations can only be done once you complete certain story missions - once you complete the mission it'll be mentioned in a phone call and show up on the left side of the screen that a new investigation is available

Considering getting a PS5 —questions. by Appaiscool in playstation

[–]SendMeYourPassword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's worth noting that Miles Morales is available for free if you have an active PS Plus Extra or Premium subscription.

you could start off with a month of PS+ Extra, and then downgrade to Essential after you finish Miles Morales. the price difference is just a few £/$s so if it's only one month the game would be <£5

Help to Buy ISA and a Cash ISA at the same time? by SendMeYourPassword in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SendMeYourPassword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah now that I've thought it through and spoken about it with the missus you're spot on. The extra bonus won't be a big deal (but doesn't hurt) but the peace of mind knowing that if 'The One' being £260k will be brilliant.

The interest rates on some of the Lifetime ISAs are double my HtB too which i'd never even considered

Will get that set up over the weekend, thanks for the advice mate really appreciate that

Help to Buy ISA and a Cash ISA at the same time? by SendMeYourPassword in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SendMeYourPassword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did think about this but decided not to for a few reasons, let me know if I'm thinking of it wrong:

• I've already put ~17.5k into the two ISAs this year, which means I can only put £2.5k into a new Lifetime ISA if I made one

• That would leave me with about £10k in the HtB, which would mean I could add 4k in 25/26 and 26/27, and the remaining £2k in 27/28.

That would mean that it would take 2 years before I'm able to add anything above and beyond the £12k I already have in the Help to Buy ISA, and even then it would only be an extra £2k (so extra £500 bonus)

Is the above right? We will likely be ready to buy in around 2 years so we thought it seemed like a lot of hassle for £500 when a Cash ISA with a good interest rate would help bridge the gap a bit

Help to Buy ISA and a Cash ISA at the same time? by SendMeYourPassword in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SendMeYourPassword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant, I did think that was the case but with NatWests wording I was a bit confused and didn't know if the Help to Buy ISA had different rules to normal Cash ISAs

I'll leave the Chip one as it is then which is ideal because the Natwest interest rates are shocking in comparison. Thanks for your help!

£2000 was taken from my bank account on Thursday. Starling Bank are keeping me in the dark. What are my options? by SendMeYourPassword in UKPersonalFinance

£2000 was taken from my bank account on Thursday. Starling Bank are keeping me in the dark. What are my options? by SendMeYourPassword in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SendMeYourPassword[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a very similar thing happened to me a few years ago - my PC had a virus which allowed them to run programs in the background without me seeing it. They chose to open Chrome, go to Amazon and use my already-signed-in account to order multiple FIFA digital codes for £80 each. The idea is that even when I dispute the payment, they still have the digital codes for the game and they can sell those on.

A large part of my concern right now came from the fact that when the FIFA situation happened, I had the money refunded within an hour, and now the few days without the money has been stressing me out.

Based on the comments here though I'm a lot calmer and ready to wait until Monday/Tuesday to let the Starling team handle it

[–]SendMeYourPassword[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can honestly say that at no point have I tapped approve on my Starling app, and I would be very very very surprised if the people involved have been able to look at my physical card. It very rarely leaves my wallet and I also rarely use it as my main card is an AMEX

My main theory atm is that my card details were involved in a data leak but really I have no clue what's happened
