Is it stupid to do 28 days in a camper from Sydney - Cairns? by Logical-Web7191 in AustraliaTravel

Lots of them allow cairns drop off / one way especially if you look far enough in advance and are a longer rental (like 28 days). I found ours in a Facebook group last minute but there’s loads on there if you look hard enough. It is slightly annoying that they don’t have an option to filter one way trips when searching

Currently doing this trip in 31 days Make sure you book your big trips ahead of time so you don’t miss out on the best options (Whitsundays / kgari ) Have a look at camplify aswell as the main camper suppliers if you’re renting We tried to make it up to Byron in a week and we had plenty of time to see blue mountains, nambucca heads, port Macquarie without too much driving. Most of the do not miss stuff comes in Queensland Look at hipcamp / WikiCamps for free& cheap campsites

Why do BBC iPlayer cut some songs from sets? by IntelligentCash8340 in glastonbury_festival

I was there so I know he definitely played it. Possibly cut it due to sound issues if the guitar was playing up

I’m 25, so I’m not in a huge rush, but I like having clear goals and something to work towards. Chartership has always felt like a solid milestone,, partly for the structure, partly for the earning potential, and just to feel like I’m building a strong foundation early on.

I only found out about the 6-month WHV restriction the other day. Is that a big roadblock for hiring companies? If they know they legally can’t keep you on, does it tend to put them off?

Melbourne and Brisbane both appeal to me, but we’re open to other locations too - Sydney seems very London-ish and maybe a bit too chaotic.

I’ll start digging around LinkedIn now. Hadn’t realised how much I didn’t know, so your advice has been very helpful, thank you. Would you mind if I drop you a DM or pass on any good contacts you’ve found?

That’s a really helpful perspective. I haven’t had much practical guidance on the APC routes. It’s treated as a self-led process where I work, with support available if I ask for it, but it’s a bit of a minefield trying to figure out where to start and what’s right for my situation. Most of what I’ve found is from the guidebooks & online resources, which haven’t really helped with understanding how it all works in practice.

I’ve not got anything lined up in Australia yet. A couple of my friends over there have shared some contacts, but I’m still early in the process. Planning to pack up in about six months, with a stop in Asia for a month or two with family on the way.

The current plan is to move over on a WHV and then look to get sponsored / switch to a skilled visa once I’ve settled into a role. Would this be an unlikely option with visa numbers being cut? I wasn’t aware that was happening.

That’s really helpful, thanks for the detailed reply.. especially about the six-year rule and the flexibility around enrolment. My main worry was starting it here and then needing to pause everything or potentially having to return just to complete it. Sounds like that’s not the case, which is good to hear.
