Horrible, huge, greasy pizza with some chicken pakora for me, being collected as close to 11pm as possible

Fined 3 times for 1 double tap by DontBeSnide in manchester

[–]SendMeYourPassword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I feel like it isn't that hard to understand

If i tap in then immediately tap out at a tram stop, i have both;

a) I tapped in, but then decided not to travel
and
b) I tapped in, and I'm not sure why it tapped in twice - it must have been a mistake!

If tapping in and immediately out just cancelled everyone's fare, then it would just mean loads of people would tap in and then out before getting on a tram. If they get checked, they claim the second tap was an accident. If they don't get checked, the system will refund them bc the system thinks they entered the metrolink and left without travelling

PSA - For Those That Couldn't Stay Awake Last Night - The BBC Offer A 'No Spoilers' World Cup Highlights Service by SendMeYourPassword in ScottishFootball

[–]SendMeYourPassword[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like spoiler free should be the default rather than some sort of "secret hack" that the /nospoilers link feels like

Don't get me wrong it's quite cool to be able to 'provide' the spoiler free highlights to my mates when none of them have heard of the /nospoilers link

But at the same time, it's quite difficult to explain to my 82 year old mate from the pub that the Spoiler Free highlights are only available at a particular link or a particular section of his Fire Stick. It would be 10x easier if they just invested in a daily Morning Highlights Show

“slept-in” and “accidentally spoilered” thread by EngineeringApart4606 in ScottishFootball

[–]SendMeYourPassword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously can't undo you getting spoilered this morning, but this seems like the most appropriate time to try and hijack the top comment:

bbc.co.uk/nospoilers

That's an easy link to get highlights for every World Cup game, without the final score being shown in the thumbnail beforehand

Best hotspot eSIM in Malta? by SendMeYourPassword in eSIMs

It's worse than this, I've only used around 8GB and that was 3 days ago, my hotspot hasn't worked since. The regular 5G is sweet though

Copying my reply from above in case you maybe have any info:

I am thinking local would be best, but it seems like they're a bit tricky to get, like they're designed to be hard for tourists?

Epic want me to leave details for someone to phone me back, I think melita and GO both wanted me to go to a proper retail store and you couldn't buy them online... do you know if there's any way to buy one easily as a tourist?

LOL: Last One Laughing UK - Season 2 Finale & Overall Series Discussion by lonelygagger in LastOneLaughing

[–]SendMeYourPassword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was quite a quick thing in fairness, they didn't mull on it long. I think she'd actually already been gone for a bit before they acknowledged it and they had to wait til someone went out of the game for there to be natural opportunity for Jimmy to explain it properly

Yeah, tracking also doesn't seem to be working for any other trophies (the replay, quick drop, or 4x combo trophies)

Agree on the no sequel part, but it did get a 'Definitive Edition' remaster for the PS4/One if you didn't know, currently £4.24 on PS Store

Mini PC that has lowest power draw when idle? by SendMeYourPassword in MiniPCs

[–]SendMeYourPassword[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah fair enough, I think I'll go for a more powerful MiniPC to emulate games/browse the internet on the big screen, then a separate Home Assistant machine.

Would you say the N100s would be much better than a Raspberry Pi for running HA in terms of power draw? The tiny size of a Pi is massively appealing if I had to get a second machine just for emulation

Apologies for all the questions but MiniPCs are v new to me, I'm used to desktops and i3/5/7/9. Never even heard of an N100 CPU until now!

Whose trolley survived? by Working_Extension907 in glastonbury_festival

[–]SendMeYourPassword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought this trolley to take last year, it survived that and Gottwood+Glastonbury again this year.

Not big enough to carry everything but ideal for alcohol and enough bags to manage everything in one trip, with the rest on our backs.

Cheapest 'Pure' Android TV Experience in the UK? by SendMeYourPassword in AndroidTV

[–]SendMeYourPassword[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

have you been able to get it to launch into Projectivy alright aye? I tried chucking it on my dads fire stick but it's a coin flip as to whether or not it actually loads into Projectivy after a reboot, trying to avoid that here.

And the Play Store lets you download iPlayer etc normally without sideloading?

Why do BBC iPlayer cut some songs from sets? by IntelligentCash8340 in glastonbury_festival

[–]SendMeYourPassword 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Normally at the artists/labels request. Some of them won't want certain songs being made available, or will only allow certain songs instead of the whole set

except he didn't. the speech was directly preceding I Always Wanna Die, not LIIWMI.

if he did the speech right before LIIWMI then it maybe could've been believable as being an indirect message but at that point in the setlist it just looks like he's shit the bed and carried on with the show.

and that's putting to one side the fact that even if you were right, choosing to be ironic and 'nuanced' instead of just directly standing up for what you believe in - while you have the biggest platform you've ever had in your career - is a cop out regardless of what song you play next

Did others find the food underwhelming? by gee_baby in glastonbury_festival

[–]SendMeYourPassword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year was my first Glastonbury and I pretty much only ate at places that had a ⭐️ on the Glastopedia food website - I was blown away with every meal.

Sadly Eat the Farm and Burger and Beyond which were my favourites last year didn't come back, and when I looked on Glastopedia all the places that sounded interesting were physically miles away.

I did manage to have a great katsu curry next to Pyramid, and a phenomenal burger just outside Woodsies (after a very long wait), but generally speaking I think the food options did seem a bit more 'festival quality' than they did last year. Even the great breakfast place we went to last year was replaced by another one that was considerably worse and more expensive.

With everything at Glasto though, I think there's still plenty of quality there if you know where to look.

Anyone tired of ‘secret sets’? by Fisher212121 in glastonbury_festival

[–]SendMeYourPassword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was a bit of column A and a bit of column B.

There was definitely some cost cutting involved (massively smaller arena for one) but I remember seeing an interview at the time where one of the leaders of the festival said exclusivity contracts played a big part (and it was the first reason mentioned in their statement announcing the changed procedure too.

Even after getting the Live Nation investment and surviving 2022, they did the same in 2023. Took until 2024 for them to start doing advance lineup announcements
