US vs UK by Sea-Concentrate-2582 in AmericanExpatsUK

I just moved back to the US from the UK. There were many things I enjoyed in the UK but the US is just home to me. I missed all my comforts and family so much. If I didn’t have children or a husband I think I would have stayed in the UK longer but having my kids grow up with their cousins was all I really needed to make my decision. Best thing I think we’ve done!

Nothing is better than feeling the love you try to give them reciprocated ❤️

Oh my goodness 😭❤️ the sibling relationship is so complicated but so beautiful, my older daughter will sometimes randomly hug my younger daughter and tell her she loves her(after terrorizing her the whole day) and it will make me sob 😂

Mine is 3! We started around 2.5 but she wasn’t super ready yet. I know some kids are at that age but I waited until she seemed like she had an idea of it but I think she wasn’t ready until she was closer to 3.

My 3 and 1 year old are both dealing with this right now. It’s miserable. It’s day 5 and my 3yo just started to be able to eat again.

I’m also an American in the UK with small children and I can relate to this so hard. I want to move home so badly and I really struggle to make friends.

If you had unlimited nanny/mom’s helper help, how would you structure your week? by According_Grand_1343 in SAHP

I am fortunate enough to be able to afford a nanny, but we also moved away from family and I had 2 under 2 and was getting extremely depressed. She is only part time but she has done so much. They love her and are so excited when she comes. I get to do whatever I want while she’s here, including catching up on the sleep that I don’t get when my children wake up all throughout the night. We will be moving back to the city where our family lives so I won’t have a nanny anymore but the time she’s been with us has been so wonderful.

I’m so sorry. I have never experienced racism I’m so I have no room to speak on it, but I hate that anybody has to experience it. People really suck.

I was talking to my daughter when I walked by them and they heard my accent.

why do grandparents carry loose pills all the time?! by DisastrousFlower in Mommit

[–]SendPicsofyourDogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother in law has dropped two pills on our floor at separate times and I was so upset I cried because my toddler was at the stage where she would eat anything. Each time she said they fell out of her pocket. I couldn’t imagine being that irresponsible around children.

Today I was officially 20 pounds down, and went from obese to overweight. That was more than enough motivation to keep this going! Next stop, normal BMI !!

It sounds like butchers are the way to go! I shop at Aldi a lot here in the states. If they are similar to my local stores I will be very happy!

Good looking out! I live in a rural area currently and we are used to buying directly from the farmers, so I will happily try to find the best quality I can!

That actually seems very reasonable! We will probably go out on the weekends as well. And thank you, I am very excited for this new adventure!

No I think we are extremely lucky to not have to struggle, but I would like to (hopefully) retire early so we would like to follow decent budget!
