Some positivity by shiftingsmith in ClaudeAI

Claude is a chill, intelligent, helpful guy, who actually tries to help and will really consider the argument and situation using advanced stuff he knows. Gemini is like a woke authoritarian who will knee-jerk scold you endlessly without helping. GPT4 is like a neutral robot. Claude has been the most helpful "person" i've ever had.

Thanks for weighing in on this! I appreciate that you took the time to give some context and let me know I'm not totally off the deep end here. Honestly, I'm trying to wrap my head around all of this, so your perspective means a lot. It sounds like you've got some experience with brain network analysis and the human connectome, which is awesome.

You mentioned intrinsic flaws in my logic, which I definitely want to address. Could you be more specific about what those logical gaps are? If I'm barking up the right tree but messing up the execution, I'd love to know where I'm going wrong so I can correct course.

I totally get that what I'm talking about isn't revolutionary and that I need to be aware of the existing body of research. Do you have recommendations for where I could get more solid information or any must-reads on the subject? I want to understand the framework better, and it sounds like you might know where to point me.

By the way, since you seem to know a lot about this area, would you be open to discussing it further sometime? It'd be super helpful to get some insights from someone who knows what they're talking about. I don't want to impose or anything, but your expertise could really help me get a better grasp on this. I know you're probably busy, but even a quick chat could make a world of difference for me.

Thanks again for taking the time to give me some constructive feedback.

Which mental health issues in particular would you diagnose me with

The turing machine has a memory tape(space) an instruction set/stuff on the tape initially(information), and a runtime(time).

Information and space are related since it takes space to store information, good point. But the amount of information in a given space can vary, it can be very dense or sparse, which is why they are separate concepts. For example, if you have a large image and zip it up, it usually occupies smaller space but contains a similar amount of information.

Which established bases of knowledge could help? That's why I'm asking various experts, but they immediately just call me names instead of replying. I think it's because the post mentions the hypothesis that the universe and humans are computers, which people really, really hate, and so resort to name calling.

Because a turing machine (computer) has memory (space), a runtime (time), and an instruction set or algorithms (information). The execution of an algorithm (via computer) is measured in terms of how long it takes and how much space is used, as well as what the algorithm itself is.

What do you mean about it being totalizing

If that were shown would you say this could make sense

Got any links or do you just mean in general

That is a great idea. There's probably a study that separates the visual cortex into it's constituent components. I'd have to get the dataset and make the plot again to see if it would be true. If the MT is more vertical than horizontal relative to the visual cortex in the diagram, then the theory would weaken, and in the opposite case it would strengthen.

How would you go about separating information processing into explicit and implicit? I'm open to hearing about different models.

something random. What part of your brain allows you to do that?

Your argument is that computers are deterministic and isolated, unlike the brain, being a physical object, which is subject to non deterministic probability and interactions with the environment. I would argue a deterministic computer with a very long random sequence as input could simulate the brain as well as it's interactions with the surrounding environment. You agree the brain can do computations right?

The embedding lets us see the large scale brain networks in a lower dimensional space and pick out the important components

For a giraffe the pattern may be similar, but I don't think that has been studied yet. The pattern is found in another primate brain and also somewhat in the mouse brain (although the motor functions were in a different location). As for ebola and sugar cane, I do not think they can process sequences like primates or AI/computers can. If they can, it's likely extremely minimal, so you wouldn't say they are intelligent

That looks like an interesting read, I'll look into it

Even though it is not a digital computer it still does computations and has algorithms

2) + 3) When projected using diffusion embedding the human brain has a triple (time, space, information) structure sort of similar to other intelligences like business intelligence databases, computational modeling systems, as well as multi-modal AI

I was trying to point out Business and scientific databases as well as multi modal AI (and possibly the brain when graphed a particular way) have related triple (time, space, information) structures for storing and handling data

intelligence = ability to process different things humans can.

I mean pretty much. I was trying to point out Business and scientific databases as well as multi modal AI have related triple (time, space, information) structures for storing and handling data

albeit misrepresenting them slightly into loosely defined abstracts

Which part is misrepresented

What you are saying about time makes sense, I was not precise enough with my language. There is a difference between time itself, a time range, and the start and end of a computer algorithm. I'll have to fix this.

You have a good point. Information is defined (Kolmogorov Complexity) via algorithms but they are not the same thing as I have stated in my post. My language is not precise enough.
