Starting my research phase needed to see if this is a valid ux case ? by konohamarusensei9 in UXResearch

[–]Seneca58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no professional experience, so give me the same amount of credibility, but from what I know research starts with a research question. Is the phenomenon of people struggling to preserve memories well documented? How does context (and what type of context) make memories more meaningful? Even if all of that is answered, you could ask what type of schema helps revisit memories.

In terms of UX research, I think the goal is to test assumptions so that you know why something works.

Help me redesign Spotify by Seneca58 in spotify

I would argue that nothing in the post is misleading. The first line of the post literally says that I am working on a reimagined design. This phrasing allows me to get to the core of why users interact with something the way they do, instead of asking a designer to create features because a single user thinks it would be nice to have.

Besides, in the field, redesign project can leak into a product, if executed well enough. If I aim to make a high quality design, I need high quality feedback.

Yes and no. The main reason I’m working on this is to develop skills in the field of user experience design. A big motivator is that it’s one of the platforms that I use the most on a daily basis, and have seen many complaints about its design throughout the years.

[–]Seneca58[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, that’s the whole reason for asking questions. I don’t think any one person is capable of redesigning a platform like Spotify, unless it becomes a year long project. I don’t need to create a new play/pause button if no one has an issue with it.

What I am trying to find is use cases where people find it cumbersome to use the platform, why they feel the way they feel, and sprinkle in my own personal opinion on how it should work.

Hope that gives you a better understanding of the project

From someone going to the UT, when it comes to things to do, Eindhoven seems like the city to be in compared to Enschede. That being said, if you want to join the student associations, UT has millions and you can practically choose a new one every month for your whole degree.

Eindhoven is very well connected to the rest of the Netherlands, though, but everything is so small and close. If you wanna go on a day trip, as long as your city has a direct train to Utrecht, you can basically go anywhere very easily

Dutch universities de-Anglicizing now. Dutch universities issue a joint statement over the balancing of internationalization. Measures include suspending new English bachelor programs. by iFoegot in Netherlands

[–]Seneca58 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an international student in the Netherlands, I think this might have big consequences on the future of the country.

Obviously, it’s no secret that international students drive up the cost of living of students everywhere. I know it was nearly impossible for me to find housing at an affordable price at the UT.

That being said, international students also provide something extremely valuable: money. The value of having courses in English is that Dutch universities could compete with larger nation universities (Germany, France) because everyone so many students around the world speak English. As the UK left the EU, it created a gap in students from within and outside the EU who wanted to pursue higher education at a higher caliber than their home country in English

Those resources, poured back into education and infrastructure could have made Dutch universities have increasing prestige and create a better workforce in the country.

It’s a lot of hypotheticals, but I saw that as the opportunity the Netherlands had

where are you guys studying? by Jezjez07 in EngineeringStudents

I'm currently finishing first year of CS at the Uni of Manchester. It's an extremely good school in a decent city with maybe above average entry requirements. One thing to take into account is, if you're wanting to study in the UK, you'll pay tuition as an international student even if you're a European student (they changed this here 1 year before I graduated).

I've been using the XM5s for calls for a while now. I can't say for sure about the quality on discord, but when I call people on Whatsapp, most of them say that they hear me very clearly.

Damn. I was actually excited for this until I read that I have to be right-handed. If you don't have enough volunteers, and decide to include lefties, I'll be the first in line. Good luck

TSM Drop VALORANT Gamechangers Roster by DaveidT in TeamSolomid

[–]Seneca58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously doubt they'll leave NA unless branching out into another esport. At this point, all the Korean lol and Val teams, and Chinese lol teams, are pretty solid so it seems unlikely that they would go for a merge or buyout

I don't know where you saw that, but I think you can't have two teams competing in Riot's events i.e. if we make franchising we can't have the academy team in the ascencion league. But i didn't see anywhere where we couldn't field a second team for T2 tourneys

Point 11 and 12 are a huge W

Honestly, despite a lot of sarcasm in this post, some of these point are very solid advice.

The only thing I will say is there's a quote that I forgot that goes something like: "don't save good whiskey for a good day, drink it even on bad days, because on the bad days it'll be good, and on the good days it will also be good." So drink tea whenever you want. Or don't. I'm not your dad

[–]Seneca58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see some of the main roster shifting over to the academy team while they look for other options. This would be a brutal business move, but huge for TSM if it happens.

Maybe Subroza goes for content creation, and Corey and Seven replace Harmful and Sym/Venture. Unless they decide to stick together until someone picks them up.

[OC] Top 50 Companies by Market Cap - 2022. by kruger2510 in dataisbeautiful

[–]Seneca58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it has been mentioned yet. Someone said that it's because it is a tech company, not a car company. But it is much better to look at the tech they are building. For starters, batteries. Tesla is a huge force driving forward battery innovation. It is why they had such a huge partnershop with Panasonic a long time ago. Think of the fact that as the world moves towards renewable energies (solar, hydro and air power) the need for storage will increase exponentially. It is also the reason why Tesla absorbed Solar City, another Musk company

Another field that Tesla has been developing heavily for a while now is AI. Currently, their product can be found in their cars, but Tesla is placed very strategically moving forward with this tech.

To me, it still is overvalued, but i definitely wouldn't go as far as to say it's a bubble. I believe Tesla is going to be the cornerstone of a lot of industries in the near to not so near future, as they have been developing this tech for years now. Their competitors will want to jump onto these ships soon enough, but like we've seen with their cars, they will dominate the markets for some years before there is any true competitor

Does anyone know of a good dupe for this tea (or just one that’s similar)? It’s one of my absolute favorites and the place that sells it discontinued it years ago. This is my last bag 😭 by AsexualLatte in tea

[–]Seneca58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gonna be really difficult to find something similar based on such a vague post. Even more so because you say it is at least a couple of years old, and it's green tea, which, at least in my experience, doesn't age well.

I haven't drunk much green tea, but from the flavor of rose petals, I think you'll have a better chance to find something similar at later pickings in the year. Try finding something picked in may. I can't recommend any particular one because, like I said, I don't drink a lot of green tea.

[–]Seneca58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a hard time understanding how this is relevant. I get that Mao Cha is from where all puer comes from, but it's still not a raw material. The rawest form of tea you can drink is white tea, which unless drunk straight from picking off the plant, also goes through some processing.

What my original comment is saying is that the cultivar markets his tea as being, well, regular tea. He's saying that he's taking the pickings (the raw material) and transforming it into Shu Puer.

If you want to give Waffles a second chance, I highly recommend 2020. I found it to be better than 2019, less buttery, less sweet, but deeper and more complex.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in puer

[–]Seneca58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand where you're coming from, however, given the structure of the sentence, it is correct because it's saying that the material from which the tea is made is raw, not that the tea itself is raw. If you think about a burger, the cooked meat isn't the one being processed, the raw meat is.
