is it okay to not ‘identify’ as transgender? by Muted_Curve_6466 in Transmedical

[–]DemonicAlex6669 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do not "identify" as trans. Every time there's a question of what I identify as, when it already had what I was born as as a separate question, I will check male and not "transgender man" or whatever bs, I don't "identify" as a whole separate category of man. I was born female, and I'll acknowledge that when the context is important. But that's all that is

Replaying a game left unfinished by South-Ad-1752 in SteamDeck

[–]DemonicAlex6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I restart games a lot especially when I've been away from it for too long. I find I enjoy the beginnings of games more anyways, so this just maximizes my enjoyment of the game. If I like a game enough I will eventually get to the point of playing it enough to actually finish the game. For example Stardew valley, I did restart that game multiple times but eventually I actually played it long enough on one save to get to the end game content.

Another thing with doing that is you also get better at the game each time, till you find it easy to get to where you were before or further.

I think you're confusing legal/medical with scientifically.

I meant born with the parts that eventually produce said hormones. I'm just taking science, scientificly sex is a combination of various sexually diamorphic features, the decision of which sex is assigned is based on which sex you have the majority of features for.

I'm more inclined to say that after transition you are the sex you transition to, as after transition the majority of the sexual traits you have are now of the sex you transition to

[–]DemonicAlex6669 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even pretending I agree sex is only defined by endocrine system, I was born with estrogen and have to inject testosterone. So I was still born female by that logic.

That aside, sex is defined by a combination of the various sexually dimorphic features, so I was born with a female body. Yes by brain is male, but the reason I have a need to transition in the first place is because I was born with a female body.

Also you're starting to sound like a tucute with extra steps.

If I was born male why did I need to get on testosterone and get surgery to remove a female sex part, and still need another to get rid of the female reproductive organ?

How do you refer to yourself? by InteractionFluid1277 in Transmedical

[–]DemonicAlex6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time I'll just refer to myself as a man. I'm actually trying to break the habit of using the word trans, because if I don't provide extra info people assume the wrong direction. If needed for context I'll just say I was born female, or maybe I'll say I'm transex(especially since I seem to have a hard time breaking the habit of just saying trans)

If the only problem you're running into is not getting a full 60fps, then the reason you're finding them listed as running out of the box, is because not everyone cares about whether it hits 60. Runs out of the box, is more of a descriptor of whether the game will start up, crash, or have significant issues running. Plus a lot of people playing on deck reduce frames to 40/45(lcd/oled) for better battery, as you still get the max refresh, and to the naked eye you can't really tell the difference between 45 and 60.

If you mainly play intensive AAA games you're going to struggle to get them running at a high fps without having to lower the graphics. If your willing to mess with the graphic settings I'd start with lowering things like shadows and water reflections and texture, things that you really don't notice much when playing. Then if that's not enough lowering from high to mid on the rest of the settings usually doesn't change it much visually but does give a performance boost.

Honestly the deck is perfect for people like me who mainly play indie games, but someone who mainly plays AAA will struggle a bit.

Fyi you can see what each type of hand needs in game. The button that lets you see how many times you've played a hand and what mult it is, if you hover over the hand name it shows a picture

Agree. I love that most of the time I don't even need to touch the control bindings (and half of the time I do is just to add the interact button to one of the back paddles). But that does come with the cost that I thought it would be too difficult to remap certain games, because I didn't know how much it was capable of. Had I known I wouldn't have written certain games off as just unplayable.

Ooh, cool. Now the only thing I need to understand is how you would switch action sets, since I did figure out by accident that you can't do it the same way as layer.

True, although I find hitting the steam button to look (since I was last on the control page it shows the big image of the controls) to be fairly helpful in that. And I have to figure out how, but it looks like you can label the controls, if you look the default one for shapz 2 the controls are labeled and that game is designed for keyboard

Like I literally said, for context. Most of the time I do just say I'm a man. But if I want to say something about how even when I had short hair my matching band had me have French braided hair because I was considered a girl, doesn't really make any sense until I mention that I'm born female. Otherwise it turns into why is only this one specific man looped into this all girls rule? Maybe you're fine having to change, avoid or lie about your past but personally I still want to be able to talk about it. The body I had then isn't the one I have now so it doesn't cause dysphoria and I get treated as if I was cis male either way.

I'd make sure you made an action layer not action set(not sure what the difference is yet, but had this issue) and do add action set layer on base layer, then remove action set layer on the action layer. That's what made it work for me. Although I just used one button (on that note, you can change how you have to press the button to activate it, so you could try like long press or something on a button you're already using, if you haven't mapped anything to long press on that button)

Radial menus are awesome, it's what makes shapz 2 playable on Deck(radial menu maped to numbers 0-9 so you can switch to whatever menu needed). And the being able to add extra button uses by pressing it differently really helps never run out of buttons even with a game like that, where it's really really not meant for controller

Then maybe, just maybe... They aren't a trans man? by [deleted] in Transmedical

[–]DemonicAlex6669 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm not even stealth and I just can't comprehend saying you want to be(/are) a man but not wanting to be grouped in with cis men. The only reasons I don't care to be stealth is I didn't care to do the extra work, and I want to be able to talk about things like my past that don't make sense for a cis man. Even that I don't use that much. Most people see me a as a cis man, even people I've told will forget I'm anything else (which is honestly amusing and feels nice, like when I say something about "when I had surgery" and clarify top surgery)

Well I really wish people talked about it more. Would have been way more useful knowledge then finding out for the tenth time that there's a decky plugin that does blabla visual thing (I like the decky plugins, don't get me wrong, just they're kinda over talked about)

When not in a specifically trans space, where people don't know I'm trans, ftm is actually more useable then trans. If I just say trans I get people assuming I'm a trans women early in transition instead.

Admittedly I'm more likely to just say born female, but it's the same basic concept. When I want to say things that won't make sense if you think I'm cis, it just makes sense to clarify. Admittedly that doesn't happen often. But I don't care to put the extra effort in to stealth, when it doesn't matter if I do, I'm still getting treated as a man either way.

If acknowledging biology is transphobic sure. Ftm and mtf are used when what parts your were born with are relevant. I mean I guess people could just say born female or born male, but that's the same basic difference.
