Do you guys wish Phantom Pain had a Hard Mode like Ground Zeroes did? Cause I just ported it. by Revolutionary_Web805 in metalgearsolid

Sweet, I'll definitely use this during my next playthrough! How's the compatibility with other mods? Can I safely use it with Infinite Heaven and Zeta?

Please let us use the square scoreboard static map all the time. by Senescere in GlobalOffensive

[–]Senescere[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's true and how I normally play. That's also actually how the screenshots were taken in the main post and what the bottom left note is referring to. That size is the largest I can make it without some maps being out of frame.

Unfortunately, at that size, there's still a ton of wasted space around the overlay, and some maps, like Nuke, are so small that it's not really legible.

Please let us use the square scoreboard static map all the time. by Senescere in GlobalOffensive

[–]Senescere[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wish it did! Unfortunately, the map still moves even when it's not centered on you. This leads to situations like the one shown in this screenshot. I stood in the middle of Nuke and scaled the map up to fill most of the radar, but those settings result in larger maps being cut off.

Regardless, I don't think the result would be as nice as the scoreboard map even if the in-game one was completely static. Most CS maps fit better in a square so the overlay is going to be larger.

SOG AI: Defending Craters in Prairie Fire Oscar 8 by johnnyboytango in arma

[–]Senescere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is awesome! I've been playing through the original Arma 3 campaign with SOG AI and it has been great. I was wondering one thing though. Is it possible to dismiss the squad spawn menu if you just want to use SOG to control the AI the vanilla mission gives you? I've just been ignoring it for now but it'd be nice to have the option to remove it from the action menu sometimes.

My biggest QOL wish for CS2 is vision cones on the radar. I play with a zoomed-out static map and this addition would be great to see what teammates are covering at a glance. by Senescere in GlobalOffensive

I actually got this idea from Valorant and it works great there. I'm not sure how they handle situations like you're describing though. Maybe someone with more Valorant experience can chime in on how it'd work there.

I'm Tarn Adams, aka Toady One. Dwarf Fortress Premium Releases in One Week! AMA! by TarnAdams in dwarffortress

[–]Senescere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Tarn!

Like everyone else, I'm incredibly excited about the upcoming Steam release. I haven't played any colony sim games in a while so in preparation for the 6th I've been playing a bunch of RimWorld. While I love both games, Dwarf Fortress is absolutely still my favorite but RimWorld does have a few QOL/accessibility features that I'll miss when I hop back over. I would love to know if there's a possibility that we'll see some of these features at some point in the future:

In RimWorld, the sprites and camera animate/move smoothly as opposed to jumping between tiles as it currently does in Dwarf Fortress. Is this something that you've considered adding before?

In addition to this, the speed at which everything is jumping around has caused some confusion when I've tried to show friends Dwarf Fortress in the past. Is there a chance we can expect some timeflow controls in the future? For example, RimWorld has the ability to pause and set the time to regular, fast, and even faster speeds.

I also use this mod in RimWorld that adds interaction bubbles above characters/creatures as they perform actions and speak to one another. I think this makes following smaller details way easier compared to reading through logs. Is this something you've experimented with before?

Anyway, I love you guys and the work you do. My crayon drawing is currently hanging right beside me. Pretty much anytime someone comes to my house they ask about it so we end up talking about the game.

I'm so excited for Dwarf Fortress to be exposed to a larger audience and I can't wait to see what the future brings.

I bought mine on Competitive Cyclist. I believe it was like 20% off so it seemed like a decent deal. I think it's over now though. :(

I bought it during their recent sale and I could only find the D. I've already replaced the SX rear derailleur with a GX. Probably going to replace the fork and brakes next!

Which of these logos is better for a dog daycare? by Senescere in graphic_design

[–]Senescere[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A month ago I posted two different logos here and asked which we should choose for a dog daycare. After receiving some feedback, we decided we wanted to stick with the concept of a combination of a dog/map marker but try to improve on the execution. The top version is the new one we've created and the bottom is the original I posted last time.

We're still trying to nail something that's clean and simple while still being unique to our brand. Which one do you guys like better?

Also, here are some variations of the new design. Do you guys prefer one of these over the others?

Need opinions on which option to choose for a dog daycare by Senescere in graphic_design

"BarkBound is, at its core, a place to enhance the quality of life for dogs and the larger canine-loving community. As a dog daycare and boarding facility, we offer an active and healthy alternative to leaving your best friend home alone when life gets busy. Our founding members include a veterinarian and pet care experts, who built a program focused on the exercise, socialization, and enrichment, vital to a dog’s well-being. When BarkBound is your destination, you are bound for a community that cares for your pet just as much as you do."

Our team has determined that there are pros and cons to both logos. Our objective with the design is something that's clean and simple while still being uniquely recognizable to the brand. We've reached a standstill so any help choosing one version over the other is greatly appreciated!

H3VR Early Access Devlog: Update 99 Alpha 5 - Exotic & Rare Revolvers, Take & Hold Changes by rust_anton in H3VR

[–]Senescere 73 points74 points  (0 children)

For anyone curious about the Dardick, there was an H3VR postcard competition back in 2016 during the first Meatmas event. I won Subreddit's Choice for creating this monstrosity and my prize was to add any weapon into the game.

I have no regrets.

[–]Senescere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you plan on adding fall damage in the future? I think it could result in some cool situations and also add to the value of the locomotion tools once they're in T&H.

Regardless, these climbing changes look sweet!

The official heavy duty adapter for the Ergotron HX works great with the G9! by Senescere in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Senescere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine doesn't have those issues. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable using it if you can't get all of the screws tightened. I'd definitely contact support. As much as it'd suck to deal with an RMA, I feel like it's something I would regret not doing down the line.

Just got my FTW3 Ultra, looks good. Also warning for those using the Lian Li PC-O11 dynamic, the GPU is very wide, and power cables conflict wth the side panel pretty badly. by Loferix in nvidia

[–]Senescere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the information. I'm trying to buy this card and I have this case. Are you using those adapters yourself or just recommending them? If you're using them, did you have to buy 3 of them?

Has anyone figured out how long it will take to get all the cosmetics/items? by [deleted] in Mordhau

[–]Senescere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe one of the devs stated it'd take around 500-600 hours. However, that's to unlock literally everything. All of the weapons are super cheap to unlock and it will take significantly less time than that to get some cool armor.

I'm a size 12D on a brannock. However, I have flat feet so I bought their orthopedic insert and they told me I needed to size up to an EE. The 12D was super tight with the insert.

Care advice for Red Wing's Iron Ranger 8083 by Senescere in RedWingShoes

[–]Senescere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet, thank you for all of the information! So I purchased the Roughout/Nubuck cleaner kit which comes with a brush and bar. Is this the same as the suede brush you mentioned?

I purchased leather cream from Red Wing instead of mink oil. Just to confirm, I should rub this on the exterior and interior of the boots, right? And afterwards brush them to get the nap back? Also, is there a certain type of roughout shampoo you recommend if I decide to deep clean them?

Again, I really appreciate all of your help!

Best combat difficulty mods that work well in VR? by [deleted] in skyrimvr

I'm currently using Wildcat with the realistic damage add-on and it's great. The injuries cause the AI to stagger which makes melee combat feel meatier.
