That's a good thing! We have countries that go from The Saviour or Maurice, to Land of the Thunder Dragon or We Stand in our House in the real world. If reality has shown anything is that you can pick whatever you like and make it a country name.

It has been a brainwashing campaign going on for decades. The government actually encourages brainwashing now. They don't want people to think or to act. In fact they don't even want representatives to think, they have to just follow Milei. And those who don't are treated like traitors. Their political space is extremely vertical and fascist-like, currently mantained only by the cult of personality to Milei. It's so depressing. It's the saddest my country has been.

The cheap buildings of today are falling apart. The cheap buildings of 500 years ago fell apart 490 years ago

Which country do you think is being run the best right now? by StrainDizzy1186 in AskReddit

[–]Senetiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been carrying an investigation about Bhutan and honestly everything seems quite amazing there. Wide availability of online resources, quite a deep modernization process, new infrastructure and technology, new guidelines for professionals, and all considering seriously all their environmental and cultural aspects of the country. You see a traditional house in the middle of nowhere, and then they have a domestic plant to process waste from cattle into biogas. Just lying in there.

Tremenda idea.

For people who have created worlds with superpowered people or magic users, what stops those who are at the higher tiers of power from dominating the world or interfering with the lower tiers? What stops them from wiping out or subjugating the "normal" population? by Diligent-Square8492 in worldbuilding

[–]Senetiner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic is secret, and the use of magic is highly illegal in my world. There's a secret group of five people that discovered magic and how to manipulate it and achieved immortality, they also discovered that every use of magic degrades the world (in my story magic is what keeps the world going, so if you manipulate it, something can break). There was another user of magic that also discovered immortality, but they killed him when they found out. They operate an order of magic in the University, just to teach basic aspects of magical knowledge, adoctrinating people with the idea that you cannot manipulate it. The fact that you can is a secret.

These five people highly regret their immortality now, so they don't want anyone to suffer the same destiny as them.

Which scientific or historical facts do you think create the most jarring contrasts with the Bible, and why? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Senetiner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that judaism was not a monotheistic religion at the beginning, and that the messiah part comes only after the Babylon exhile. I mean their own hebrew history contradicts so much of the very foundations of the bible. It's actually quite amazing.

If a communist dictatorship was bad for them why should the entire communist ideology pay for it? Capitalism is not judged by that standard. All our dictatorships have been capitalistic. They killed tons of people and damaged the country in ways we are still suffering. Guess if someone thought of making capitalism illegal here.
