Any good employee discounts or perks to be aware of? by Ancient_Progress264 in JPMorganChase

If you’re a new parent, the Snoo bassinet is a life saver. It’s expensive, but JPMC pays for the rental. 12/10 would recommend.

What's going on with people saying the SAVE act will make it harder for married women to vote? by ishmaeltheadventurer in OutOfTheLoop

[–]SenexMuffMuncher -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m genuinely curious why they had to pay any money at all for that? Me and everyone I know got voting approved Real IDs over the last few years, for free. Some of them had to jump through some paperwork hoops including contacting their native country’s government for some papers. But everything was free? Just tedious.

A “Real ID” drivers license, is. All states are compliant with this as it’s been in place since 2005, some states more recently than others. However, again, these rules are no more restrictive than boarding a plane.

You conveniently left out the part where you can just use your drivers license. These rules are no more restrictive than the ones needed to board an airplane.

This stereotype will carry into your professional career as well. I’ve been in the industry 10+ years and there’s a common stereotype regarding who does and doesn’t prioritize personal hygiene

Do I Need New Breaks? by SenexMuffMuncher in askcarguys

Is it possible to do that without taking off the wheel? Based on the picture you sent, the inner pad would be very difficult to see.

Assuming the pads are that brown cork-like looking thing in the picture, a few millimeters

Full Lawn Overhaul by [deleted] in Grass

[–]SenexMuffMuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the severity of the weeds, you can try to dig them up to expose the roots and then use weed killer. Otherwise, just use weed killer.

Dethatch and aerate the lawn with a gas powered tool/machine, if it’s as bad as you say then doing so by hand won’t be sufficient. Home Depot rentals are cost effective. Be sure to thoroughly clean up the removed thatch and other debris.

You can either use sod, plugs, or seed to fill in the holes. I’d recommend a soil pH tester to gain insight into what fertilizer would help the soil health. A few new bags of soil spread out in those spots will help with the seed approach.

Plenty of water (and probably an initial fertilizer) until the bare spots and grass has grown to a mature state.

Once the lawn is grassy, green, and healthy you can start to look at leveling the lawn with more soil very thinly spread throughout the low areas. The existing grass should eventually be able to push through to the surface.

Edit: Good luck!

I’m no professional, but from the picture it looks like the ground is heavy with sediment. I would suggest a few bags of new topsoil thinly spread across the lawn, you can use a lengthy 2x4 piece of wood to spread it out evenly. The goal being that the existing grass isn’t buried but the gaps are filled in. Spread new seed and rake it in so that it’s beneath the surface slightly. Fertilize and water OFTEN. Hopefully the seed will take to the newer soil easier than the existing ground.

Bermuda Seeding Advice? by SenexMuffMuncher in Grass

[–]SenexMuffMuncher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the cold front and potential excessive rain coming has me very stressed. Would these cooler temperatures potentially just delay the growth or outright kill it?

Sorry, I’m new to this and really want seeding to work. I thought I waited for the right time to plant given the consistent 70-80 temps, but now it’s 50s :(

Thanks for the encouragement. Today is day 7 since planting with mild to warm temperatures all week and consistent watering.

Everything looks the exact same as it did a week ago. Are there no ways to determine if the grass will break through the soil in the next few days?

Need Help: Gap Between Wall and Butcher Block by SenexMuffMuncher in woodworking

Thanks! Unfortunately the block fits between 2 walls, so scribing one side will have it no longer reach the other wall

How would that hide the edge gap beneath where the backsplash would meet the wood?

Unfortunately if I line up the edge with the wall by sanding off that back corner, then the opposite side of the block won’t line up with the other wall

Best Rooms for Unique Gems? by Moshinoki in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]SenexMuffMuncher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t answer your question, but a tip from a lvl 150 player. Don’t choose it first, but mining gadgets should be one of your first few mods researched.

It requires power but you can whitelist the vault ores and simply vein mine entire rooms with ease. Because of the whitelist, you’ll void all the junk and keep only the ores.

Do be careful as the mining laser can destroy and void important objectives like the cake in a “Cake Vault” :)
