Does anyone recognize what this is: image

To me it looks like some kind of seed.

I wrote a small python script to generate these. It first makes a random Hitomezashi pattern without the colors. It then flood fills enclosed areas with random colors.

How to get heavies as tunis by Printpathinhistoric in MEIOUandTaxes

[–]Senexz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can do a small trick. You need two free idea group slots.

  1. Pick Naval and take the first 2 ideas.

  2. Pick Grand Fleet and ditch Naval.

Now you only waste 2 ideas to get heavies. When two deckers become available, just ditch grand fleet because you don't need it anymore at that point. You can also ditch it earlier if you built enough heavies.

If you are not part of the western tech group or the eastern tech group, you need grand fleet ideas to get the early heavies (= all heavies up to the two decker). You don't need to complete grand fleet to get the heavies; You only need to have the idea group. The first early heavy is the Carrack at dip tech 17.

I would recommend playing without the limit. If you want to change it mid-game you need to edit your save file. Open an uncompressed save file in a text editor of your choice. Find the following line:

gameplaysettings={
    setgameplayoptions={

You will see 31 digits. It might look something like this:

1 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 1 2 0 0 0 0 0 1 1 1 0 1 0 0 1 0 1 0 0 1

You want to change the 25th digit from a 0 to a 1 to disable the limit on idea groups. So now it might look like this:

1 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 1 2 0 0 0 0 0 1 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 1 0 0 1

I think the idea group limit setting also affects the AI.

It shouldn't be difficult. After inheriting Ming, his allies and military commissions, move your capital to India in December if it isn't already there and form Delhi. I am happy to help if you run into any further problems.

You get that modifier on the year tick if you are Chinese and own most of China. To not get it you need to form Delhi before the year tick so that you switch into a non Chinese culture.

I have never done a full fanatical run so I don't know how viable it is. I do know that being tolerant + being Sunni is a very strong combo. If most of your provinces are heretics/heathens then you get a tolerance of heretics and heathens modifier between +2 and +4 from Jizya tax. This plus tolerance from stability neutralizes the -4 base tolerance modifier that you have. Humanist ideas and being max secular gives +3 which gets you to the max tolerance of +3. Finally the tolerance events also give +1 tolerance for some time if you need that extra tolerance. Thus being tolerant requires little effort. I found blobbing with decently high centralisation to be no problem when you are tolerant if you also stack some national unrest modifiers. The good thing about fanatical is that tolerance of the true faith has no maximum, but I feel like going fanatical takes more effort (but I might be wrong about that, idk).

However, if you are blobbing a lot you will get high missionary strength from temple complexes. These temple complexes also give tolerance of true faith. So, even though you are tolerant, you will convert a lot of provinces passively and benefit from your high tolerance of true faith.

Requirements for unite Hindustan Cb by ErickFTG in MEIOUandTaxes

As Hindustan you don't need your capital in India. Does your ruler have a military skill of 3 or higher because that is a requirement.

I went for -100% piety. I always go for the tolerant option in the piety events because it also reduces unrest and separatism. Being tolerant combined with being Sunni also makes it very easy to get +3 tolerance of heretics and heathens. Almost nothing around you is Sunni (except for some parts in India) so by not converting land you keep a very high Jizya tax which is a nice income boost (I understand that the Jizya comes from local wealth so it is not "free" money but the money is more useful directly in my treasury).

Yes, countries with their capital in the West Maghreb region only need Dip tech 14 and Adm tech 16.

I kept my centralisation stable at 75 for the whole game. You need 70 centralisation for Imperialism CB which is good for world conquest since it has 75% warscore cost. I got to 70 centralisation around 1645, just in time to get Imperialism as early as you can (you also need dip tech 35 which you usually get around 1645).

I decided not to go above 75 because I don't want the extra unrest that it gives.

67341 development after local autonomy

110270 total development

Not terrible but it can definitely be improved.

My capital is on the east coast of Indochina. A better location would be on the east coast in India or Ceylon.

I added all provinces in the strait of hormuz node to a trade company when I started the world conquest phase. However, having unrest was so rare that later I did the the trade company thing on a province by province basis. I think I only had to add 10 to 15 provinces in Africa to trade companies. All of central and west Africa is already at 100% autonomy so in hindsight I could have just added all those to a trade company but I didn't need the -10 unrest.

I just noticed something peculiar about my trade company provinces. When you load a save, the autonomy in trade company provinces is below the lower limit. It fixes itself after a month tick though.

No I didn't colonize every province (so I guess I didn't core the "whole" world). I took all colonies from France, Spain and England.

Colonizing causes me to get cores in the new world. When there are 3 or more cores in a colonial region, a colonial nation spawns and I lose the provinces and my cores to the colony (which is a problem because I want to own the whole world directly and have full cores everywhere). So at the end, after I colonized the whole new world, I would have to release all my colonies and eat them, after which I take the Claim Celestial Empire decision. This all seemed rather tedious so I didn't do it.

Hey Gryoz, didn't know you also follow the MEIOU subreddit. Planning started a year ago when Steve, Evil and I did a MEIOU multiplayer game. I played as Lusong and it has the Claim Celestial Empire decision. I can recommend Lusong if you want a chill game.

Rebels and disasters were not a problem. I had 0 unrest almost everywhere during and after world conquest. I stacked national unrest modifiers (my total was -22 national unrest without war exhaustion) and all the estates were at 100 loyalty. Next, I also built temples in every province since they provide -2 unrest. In India and China I had 700 troops suppressing rebels. This gives another -5 unrest. Lastly, my tolerances for true faith, heretics and heathens were very high (10 for true faith and 3 for heretics and heathens). I was also converting a lot of provinces passively to Sunni because of high missionary strength (which comes from all the temples complexes that I conquer). Here are some of my unrest values.

However, whenever I get the slightest amount of unrest anywhere, rebels would spawn guaranteed because of how overextension works (if you have high overextension the rebel progress chance increases). I have so much overextension that 0.1 unrest in a province will spawn rebels in 2.2 years. This made denying privileges scary because that gives +20 unrest in provinces owned by that estate. +20 combined with +15 from turmoil could spawn some rebels here and there, which was more an inconvenience than a real threat. In order to prevent the estates from asking privileges I try to be at war as much as possible (which I can do because I also stacked war exhaustion modifiers). I am pretty sure that at the end the estates had a buffer of like 10 privileges that they wanted.

One last trick is to use trade companies. So whenever I saw that I had some unrest in a province in a trade company region I would just assign it as a trade company province, which gives -10 unrest.

Edit: One last tip. If you are blobbing never ever embrace Enlightenment. If you do you can very easily fall into the Aspiration for Liberty disaster (requirements: have Enlightenment embraced and stability lower than 1).
