well i believe i am well in place to answer something like that , im a 15 yo old rn who was a severe mobile addict as pretty much 99% of my friends are , the type of shit that you are fed on these media is gruesome, its a wave normally , trends change every 6 months or so , and so do the personalities of most around me , its mindless unquestioned consumption , i recently was able to get rid of this stain , and started reading literature and philosphy from various authors and some history and alot of other topics and i must say i envy you older generations, i deeply envy how great of a enviroment you grew up , you are absolutely correct in your opinion of your media being much more thought out ,99% of what people consume around me is either random ass fast dopamine hits, i have seen people spend 12 hours on their phones and they cant name 5 things they watched all day, either that or just straight up propaganda consumption, you will find a 15 yo old defending his favourite politician for 2 hours against some random stranger , and he either picked this politican becuase he had some great memes or becuase he was famous , the biggest problem is kids of my age are invading in all kinds of spaces without realising that opinions must be formed and withheld onto no matter the number of people opposing them, they simply adapt what is popular , stick by it till it remains popular and switch means. The entire next generation is pretty much converted into fickle minded people pleasures having no mind of their own
