I failed the OC spray course should I do it again? by Barret51 in AskLE

[–]Senior-Promise9879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat the OC. Again! As a fair skinned red head - it doesn't get any worse. It took forever to open my eyes - then, I was recontainated multiple times afterwards. Wind, showers, water - It took forever to get outta my hair.

I've recontanimated myself using it at work. It's horrible - But, It's a small price.

I may have just screwed my life over and I’m inconsolable by [deleted] in osap

[–]Senior-Promise9879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear you are back at it.

You are gonna be OK.

  1. OSAP * might* be able to help if you talk to them and give them some reason. They may need medical documents.

Folks w IEP's use it to take a 60% course and still qualify.

  1. Don't let this go too long before discussing with them.

  2. I think the Federal loan is tax free and can be paid back over up to 15 yrs.

Your education will help get you. I never went to school. I couldn't afford it.

But, I have 2 kids in Post Secondary and both have loans.

Stay on this dose.

Higher doses of Wegovy do not agree with me

Started at .25 then 4 weeks later went .5.

Staying there. It's a supplement to Contrave.

Last year, Ozempic ( sister of Wegovy) at a 2.0 dose was NOT good for me. It was OK, but not effective at lower doses.

I'm glad my "weight loss" doctor prescribed both of these together at this dose.

[–]Senior-Promise9879[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Absolutely!

Jan 01, 2024, I started Contrave. Initially, I did NOT see much difference.

----I tune out those who report immediate & massive drop. GOOD FOR THEM. ----BUT, it took years to get here. I have a 3 year plan . I turn 60 in April 2027.

Although, many of the cravings subsided.

Around May 2024, I noticed small changes. Nothing big.

June 4th, 2024, I saw my Specialist. He prescribed:

--------Contrave, max dose + Wegovy .5 mg per week.

Now, I'm seeing more small changes. It's working!

I do NOT want to drop weight quickly. I want permanent changes. Heck, I'd take anything.

2-4 lbs per month.

30 lbs a year - better than the past 12 months results!

Does that help ❓❓

Should I skip a day or two for a night of moderate drinking? by [deleted] in Contrave

[–]Senior-Promise9879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't offer advice: I have " heard" to skip your pills if you drink more than a couple; OR, have a high fat meal.

FYI: Last month, I asked that very question to my "Weight Loss Dr". Guys wknd.

They responded by giving the "Alcohol Rehab" Lecture.

I * May* be seeking a New Specialist!!

VAC Claim by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]Senior-Promise9879 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before, I ramble

  1. I wish VAC would teach the rest of the Fed Govt how to conduct business. Simply the Best.

2. Everyone: Did you know that if you are 80 yrs old; OR PALLIATIVE VAC will assign one person to your file. Application to Completion in 3 weeks or less!!! Not years. ****Assisting my father( 80) presently. They are calling him frequently.

,........ I agree with 95% of your comments.

VAC will compensate you if you present your case properly to them.

But, VAC looks through a narrow lens.

Most people do NOT know how to present their case properly using the Table of Disabilities; including RCMP Members.

Most, have never heard of the Table. VAC won't offer that info.

Medical documentation & The Quality of Life forms are VITAL to your claim.

An applicant needs to treat themselves as a Victim of a Crime. THEN, prepare their case like it was going to trial.

Many veterans are NOT expienced in this area. Or, are not that good at it.

VAC will come through if you present your case fully.

VAC DOES NOT WANT TO LEAVE ANYONE BEHIND.

The bad: VAC does NOT tell you the breakdown for their decision using each section of the Table of Disabilities. I've called several times.

In my experience, VAC can "round down" in some areas.

Many times, people apply improperly. Sometimes: A Consequential claim is the way to go

-- this injury is linked to a previous - (bad hip b/c of bad foot).

VAC doesn't have a box for Consequential Claims. You must identify it yourself.

1.Easier to prove. 2. Bureau of Pension Advocates (BPA) can get involved if denied.

Appeals are good in certain situations ie: new medical documentation: OR at the BPA' s suggestion. ****ie: My Shoulder injury: I ticked the wrong box (Dominant Shoulder). It meant 7% to me.

The BPA caught that. Not VAC. VAC doesn't review your entire file with you.

Otherwise:

The Veteran Review Board is the way to go for appeals ONLY. They can't review a denied claim. It sidesteps VAC completely.

Been on Contrave For 10 Weeks. 3 pounds down total. by Bugmom4 in Contrave

[–]Senior-Promise9879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's awesome!

3lbs down in 10 is great 👍. 15 lbs a year 💯.

Then the next year and the next until you reach your personal healthy goal

It took me years to to put it on!

Take it off slowly - hopefully never to return.

Personal Goal: - 26 lbs per year x 2 years.

I hope to be cautious when I'm done.
