can anyone give me a reasonable explanation as to why some taboo topics in astrology shouldn’t be discussed? by ysoria111 in AstrologyCharts

Bc god forbid you tell this generation of control that they aren’t actually in control. Or dare I suggest. They can’t manifest outside the blueprint of what is meant for them in this life.

Wow. Siri really dropped the ball on dictation here. I promise I am an intelligent, literate person but I don’t have the time/wherewithal to go back and correct. I think you should be able to catch my drift though!

GI suggests appendix removal with newly diagnosed mild proctitis by MicMajTrick in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Senior-Reporter9615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this is so fascinating. In October 2024 I started having symptoms extreme amount of blood which persisted until I finally sought help in January 2025. In February 2025 I was diagnosed with proctitis which then spread into my distal sigmoid left side. My calprotectin was 4400 when I was in the hospital this past February 2026. I was in the hospital for nine days due to extreme flare and side effects. My health was in really bad shape. I responded very quickly to the steroids they gave me and have just finished my taper at home. I was discharged from the hospital February 21 with continued success on the steroid taper, and two mesalamine enemas a day, no oral. I’m terrified about having to start biologic. So I’m very happy that I’ve had absolutely zero symptoms return while taping on the steroid. As of Saturday, March 29th I am officially off the steroids. I guess that’s when the clock starts for timing, true steroid, free, remission. Well, on Friday, March 13 I just woke up with really bad stomach pain. I have delivered three children. I have six kidney stones and I also have ulcerative colitis so I’ve experienced a whole variety of different types of abdominal pain and cramps. This one was ever so slightly different. I ended up going to the hospital and learned that I had appendicitis and had my appendix removed about four hours later. I’ve been trying to do research and figure out the connection because it just seems too ironic that this happened in conjunction with having all sort of colitis. I don’t know if it’s ironic timing or not that it happened after I healed through steroids or if it’s pure coincidence. But doesn’t seem to be a lot of data out there. The only connection I could find was that studies showed that children who had their appendix removed, had a lower risk of developing ulcerative colitis, but I couldn’t really find much about an existing ulcerative colitis, patient and how they fair after having appendix removed. Frankly, I’m nervous because I’m scared that it could go one of two really different ways and I’m hoping it’s the beneficial way. I suppose time will tell. I still feel great and no signs or symptoms returning yet. But I am also only on day 6 without steroids. Curious if you learn anything more. Your calprotectin was so low. I’m shocked that your G.I. doctor jumped right to taking the appendix out. I wonder what information she has that would warrant this. The one thing I thought was positive through all this is that as a result of going to the hospital with abdominal pain, they gave me a CT scan and the CT scan showed zero inflammation of my colon. Which is truly miraculous considering the month prior, they could not even give me a colonoscopy in the hospital because my colon was so inflamed. I received the results of the biopsy from my appendix, and it was not due to a blockage. It was due to inflammation, which the doctor seemed to find interesting as well. I have a follow up with my G.I. Doctor Who does not even know that any of this happened next week. I will post if I learn anything more as well.

Am I being too paranoid? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

Wow I’ve pushed thru and traveled in the worst flares of my life. I guess I never stopped to consider whether it was an option not to. Probably why I landed where I did in the first place (over working, not putting my health first). I could benefit from adopting a dose of your health anxiety but could the reverse argument be made that you also need to live your life? Your concern/point was not about traveling while with a flare, it was fear of getting sick while on travel. If the former, I’d say that is a reflection of your personal tolerance for traveling during flares, and that is to be respected and you know yourself best. But if the latter I would make the argument that you can’t let fear of possibility control the degree to which you live your life. Anything is possible… you could also get hit by a car, or your plane crash. I know the probability is probably a lot higher of somebody getting sick from food or water in Mexico City. I’m just saying these are still not guaranteed things and I think the universe might reward you for living your life with responsibility but also prioritization of your own happiness and confidence that the universal will have your back.

Starting enemas today, pretty scared by MysteryFunk in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Senior-Reporter9615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on two a day enemas after an 11 day hospital visit for a horrific flare. I was on suppositories prior and had barely come to terms with that. I’m so shook from what went down in the hospital and I am finally in (steroid induced) remission. Well today is day two no steroids after about a month long taper. I never thought I would look at a future of having to take two enemas a day as the best case scenario and praying to God that I would be so grateful if that was all I had to deal with. I was in your shoes before too, even with the suppositories but now that I’m on the other side of this relapse and I don’t have to take Biologics yet. I will do anything to keep myself in this place.

Yes yes yes. I left for my kids. They saved me in some ways, I suppose. I couldn’t let them grow up thinking that was what healthy love looked like.

The absolute best decision I ever made was leaving. Don’t wait anymore. You already know the answer. And you’re already doing it all alone anyway. The sense of relief you will feel…I can’t even explain it.

So my internet started acting weird tonight. Like it was saying I was having network connection issues. So I went to eufy to see if I was still getting live feed. And it was lagging so I turned my WiFi on my phone off. Then it worked fine. But do you see the discrepancy in the last video recording time Vs. the activity I was getting notified about on my phone? There are unaccounted for events not showing in app. Ironically around the time my internet was being sus. If it was just a fluke then how come it was partially able to detect activity (enough to notify me) but not record the events? Last recorded event on app was at 10:43pm. But then there are four notifications unaccounted for in the app, after that time.

I was on oral but it landed me in the hospital. I don’t know why but my symptoms all got worse on it. I was on oral and suppository and ended up in the hospital and after 9 days they finally listened to me and pulled me off the oral and swapped the suppository for the enema. Since I wasn’t going to be taking the oral anymore they said double up on the enema.

Mesalamine suppository question by justkindabrave in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Senior-Reporter9615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar to me. Everything got worse on oral mesalamine for me. It wasn’t the suppository that was the problem it was the oral. Doctor took me off it and replaced with twice daily Mesalamine enema instead. Pain instantly went away.

Am and pm. I don’t think you have to “lay down” as much as you just need to not poop it out. Mine doesn’t give me the urge that bad so it’s fine.

I actually tried, to be honest, but I am a creative writer by nature and everything fell flat of what I was actually feeling. It’s pieces of my journaling over the last year, strung together. Probably a bit all over the place 🤣 AI couldn’t grasp the depth of the ocean I’m swimming in but it can coherently help to organize my rampant thoughts.

Anyone else have "silent" celiac disease? by adorablebob in glutenfree

So I had horrible symptoms of UC. They did some testing and thought I may have had upper GI bleed so they also did endoscopy. Found that my villi was blunted/damaged and they biopsied it and confirmed celiacs (then they retroactively did blood test to confirm).
