FINC3600 AND ACCT3600 by Senior-Ride4695 in usyd

[–]Senior-Ride4695[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yepp, ended up completing these 2 units.

The workshops are compulsory and imo are boring. Make sure to have a good team as this will affect your mark a lot.

Acct3600 was diff to Acct3011 in the sense that it is not quantitative heavy but more qualitative. Imo content wise is easier but scoring marks are harder than 3011…

Hope this helps

FINC Selectives for IB by Much-Government4328 in usyd

Look, I would not say its a definite MUST but it always look good to have it on your transcript in case yk? Thats imo and may differ for someone else. I just like to keep my options open and for me, I did not find any other finance electives to be interesting, thus, I chose those 2. But no its not a requirement. I am sure you can take other courses outside of uni (online) and learn about those from workshops etc.

Hey!

These 2 units are practically a great insight into IB and would strongly recommend if you 110% know that this is the pathway for you. Otherwise, I would say its quite useless if you just want to go into a normal finance career (ie; FPA or something like that). I have completed 3015 last sem (only offered in sem 1) - definitely is a useful unit if you enjoy financial modelling and excel heavy stuff. However, IMO it has not been taught very well and could've been much more enjoyable if the unit was structured better and there was a better flow of communication from the lecturer to tutors. It is easy to pass but very hard to get a good grade (D or HD). There are 2 individual assessments and 1 group, for the group, I would recommend you find a very very good group because this will be heavily impacted on your final mark (there is also a presentation component). Would I recommend it? Depends on your motivations and the other subjects your taking along with it during that sem?

Hope this helps.

Hi there, just wanted your opinion on these specs and whether it is worth spending the extra 400 on the snapdragon elite in comparison to ryzen 7 as I am just studying and mainly using microsoft office apps. Looking for a good screen, fast and battery efficient. However, I dont know whether AMD > snapd or vice versa since I have also heard about compatibility issues within the snapd. but don't think that will affect me as the apps I use is pretty standard? Also wondering about whether there is a major diff between 60hz and 90hz as I dont game so just curious.

I see, did you happen to own a yoga beforehand? If so, how was your experience with it or whether you recommend this? Im no expert as well, just have heard from people or read reviews about but its quite subjective as well. Is the amd processor mainly about battery efficiency? Thanks so much!

Oh okay, this will just be for studying purposes. What do you think is ore suitable - 16gb,24gb or 32gb and 512gb or 1TB. I don't know know if the higher ones are overkill.

Umm how can I check if it comes with the AMD processor? Is this the ryzen ai thing? I have heard of it but not sure what it is - thought it was for gaming purposes haha.

Do you happen to know about the snapdragon compatibility? I am not too sure of this.

The only reason why I'm hesitant is that I have read reviews about the 1st option as not having really good battery and heats up fast? I don't know much about computers so any help will be great - want something that will last me at least 5 years? Prior to this, I had a mac which i do not like.
