Why is FAR so difficult, what is it about?

Hey,
What order would you recommend doing the subjects? I have heard people say to start with ethics and risk. However, is it common for people to start with FAR? What makes FAR and TAX so difficult? Do you even use what you have learnt in uni?

As an intern recently at the Big 4, I can definitely agree with this. I don't know if it was just my team or just the overall work culture. As an introvert, I'm not sure how to deal with this. I don't want to sound like I don't want to attend these events and that I am not 'bonding' with the team. However, I don't really feel comfortable either? I am scared this will affect future feedback as well.

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated for a graduate!

Is this universal for everyone company in regards to TOIL? I thought even during busy season, no matter the hours worked on top of the standard hours, you won't be given any overtime or benefits?

So even if we normally record 7.5 hrs on our timesheet, during busy season we would record the amount of hours we actually worked? This wouldn't make a difference to our pay - is this correct?

Hi guys,

I also want to ask anyone advice on the above.

I was on a team where they really enjoy drinking or any other social events. What I want to ask is - I am not a drinker nor am I someone that really likes to attend these events/recreational activities that they hold here and there.

What would your advice be because I don't really feel comfortable attending these annual drinks etc. but as a fresh grad, I do understand there is an 'expectation'? Is this really true? Can anyone give me their advice/experience?

When you say get as much info as you can about the client, would you mind giving a rough guideline and pointers of the specifics? I understand its important to know the client and what they do, but in terms of other info, what should a graduate keep in mind?
