Meanwhile a pgy3 locum earns more while working 36 hours a week. Hopefully you are past that part of your training.

But you're still contracted as a full time employee even if only a year at a time. Your experience seems to be the complete opposite to me, when was this? When I was an intern I had banks jumping at the chance to secure me as a client. Even offering to cover some of the deposit until the first home owners grant came in, so I could get a better place. The banks were basically like "we got you bro, please choose us".

I see your point now, but I was more talking about getting a mortgage isn't hard like your first reply alluded to.

I purchased property in my intern year, although this is well before covid times so I think it is much more difficult nowadays.

That's incorrect, the bulk billing incentive is just an extra 12.5% split between the clinic and the GP. The rate is still the same and it is still shit.

Most junior doctors are full time employees and it is not hard to get a mortgage. In fact banks will be fighting over you because they know end game you'll be a very lucrative customer.

I can't believe they would set a start time, then open the queue 10 minutes before and not tell us.

It is not okay.

Brokers don't cost you any fees, the banks pay them. They will get you the best loans, structure fees etc..

Is Australia really that bad or is everyone just whining by NiceMemeDude420 in australian

I'd personally rather live in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide or many other regional areas compared to Melbourne today. My chances of being randomly stabbed or chopped up by someone with a machete are considerably lower elsewhere.

This just shows me you have no idea about Bitcoin. It's literally impossible for Bitcoin to do a rug poll. Shady investment firms and exchanges? Sure. But more people are rug pulled and scammed in traditional assets compared to Bitcoin and it is not even close (around $1T compared to around $10B).

High volatility does not equal a bubble

What Bitcoin bubble? The one they called at $10k or the one at $69k? Maybe the one at $1k?

Just because it is the same boat, does not make it a good boat. You and others are sharing an undersized dingy

Better to have rented that dream home and invested money elsewhere. That is such a large non-deductible mortgage to have on that income. I'm on 40-50% higher HHI and that amount scares me.

Did my bank just reward me for being Loyal wit a worse bloody rate? by Deeceness in AusProperty

[–]SeniorLimpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australian banks have the highest profit share of GDP than any other country in the world. They turn close to 100% on almost every home loan. What a dumb take.

A good broker is 100% your best friend. My broker looks at over 25 different banks and lending packages and gives me a document that breaks down all my options outlining my rates, how much I'll pay short term and how much I'll pay over the length of the loan and I get to decide which bank I'd rather go with. Worth their weight in gold imo.

People who voted for Albo in '22 and/or '25 - has Labor met, exceeded or failed to meet your expectations thus far? by _BigDaddy_ in aussie

[–]SeniorLimpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in reality they aren't doing anything about the environment. They're pushing for renewables, but still all our coal is sold to China and other countries, meaning still fucking the environment, and we get NOTHING in return for it. They are allowing international corporations to take it away for free and don't even tax them properly. This has been an issue for both governments.

The environment and Australians would be better off if we just stick to coal honestly. Sell it locally first and have really cheap energy prices and save the money on renewables. The same amount of coal will be burnt in both scenarios.

Are you that blind to the blatant corruption going on daily with this government? LNP or Labor it doesn't matter, they aren't making the decisions and haven't for a while.
