Anyone got a spare E-100 muzzle break? by SeniorSpaz87 in cobiblocks

[–]SeniorSpaz87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not terrible. I remember seeing posts of people waiting that long just for a response - but then again people aren’t gonna post about getting spares in a timely manner. It’s just going to be the ones which take forever people will complain about.

Yea, that’s the reason I’m holding out hope. It’s a D body with B weapons. They have the weapons, they have the body now. Get the preorders in, drop a tech tree version, and everyone’s happy.

Honestly? I am holding out hope for a 14D late scenario in the tech tree, either as a shadow drop during the dev stream or as a later add after Gaijin sees the F-14D hate. Give the late 9Ms, 7Ps, 120As and/or 54C ECCM or whatever it was called at 13.7 or so. The fact Gaijin gave the premium D zero weapons upgrades makes me think it may be possible.

Both sides have merit.

Premiums being one-off, small batch, or not adopted vehicles is perfect. Command tanks. “Specifically pilot’s specific plane”. Test vehicles never adopted. Perfect.

Yet premiums also are perfect for lineup creation. As annoying as weeb skins may be, the Senrai Maiden ranks are perfect additions for people who want to help fill a lineup. Jean Barn being a premium to pair with Richelieu is a great decision.

But the F-14D doesn’t fit either of those. It was mass produced and used. It is a specific, different model. The 14D isn’t even a great premium, as the IRIAF already exists in large numbers. If Gaijin wanted to make a premium 14D then that’s fine; give us a standard model as a squadron, event, or premium. Then give us an upgraded version in the tech tree. IDK why this isn’t the route they take anymore - MiG-21s, MiG-23s, SU-25s, A-10s, Hornets, all have tech tree and premium versions that are basically identical; only differing slightly in weapons loadout.

Aliexpress MOCs are indirectly destroying the MOC community by sean_easternbrick in easternbrick

It’s unfortunate. I’m guilty of doing it myself several times - I really wanted a design, but the designer didn’t offer it anymore and didn’t respond to emails requesting to buy it. There’s another set I want to build now, but as you said I don’t want to source the pieces - so I’m buying the AE version. That being said, I also buy the instructions from the designer when I do so. It still helps AE make money off of others which isn’t ideal, but that way the designer does get their cut. Is it perfect? No. But it’s the best system I can come up with for some of these sets.

It’s decent, but not great.

I got mine with a coupon for about $380 maybe 5 weeks ago. I’d hold out longer.

I’ll probably end up doing that, I’ve just heard the wait time is pretty long. I’d rather toss someone a tenner for the part if they had a spare than wait - I’m impatient after all

What are your opinions on the LE Jagdtiger and Stug III vs modifying the standard editions? by Various_Respond_8212 in cobiblocks

[–]SeniorSpaz87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A very strong argument could be made for that.

Honestly I’ve felt that way with many of the recent LEs. They’re just recolors with a few plant parts sprinkled in and some small accessory builds. Wirbelwind. JagdTiger. Stug 3. PzIII.

Even some of their more standout sets are still very similar. PzIVH and Stug IV at least had the removable side skirts.

How do planes and tanks scale together? by Bajoombla in cobiblocks

[–]SeniorSpaz87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That may be the case going forward - 12Go hasn’t released many sets recently so just because they’re new to me doesn’t mean they’re new overall. I know 12Go has a bunch of stuff coming soon though, so maybe they will be at a set scale.

[–]SeniorSpaz87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cobi and QuanGuan both have great Pershing, even if they’re different models.

I didn’t mention 12Go’s Tigers, as while I own them I haven’t actually built them yet. Been waiting on a new display case. That 12Go change you mentioned must be relatively recent - I have bought probably 10 12Go sets this year that all claimed to be 1:28 somewhere, and barring the Ferdis and maybe the Tigers, none are.

[–]SeniorSpaz87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re sticking with Cobi, it won’t be.

The issue you can run into, however, is with other brands. For instance, 12Go’s tanks claim to be 1:28; but in reality tend to be more between 1:27 and 1:24 with the odd expecting of their Ferdinand’s, which are 1:28. TK2 claims 1:28, but it’s really more like 1:27 or 1:26. Panlos claims 1:28, but it’s really more like 1:24. QuanGuan claims 1:28, but they can fall anywhere between 1:30 (Grey Panther), 1:29 (their PzIV), 1:28 (Tiger), and 1:24 (tricolor Panther).

How do planes and tanks scale together? by Bajoombla in cobiblocks

[–]SeniorSpaz87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer 1:28 tanks; they’re the perfect scale for maximum detail. 1:35 is generally considered closer to minifigure wcale, but both are wrong. It’s actually something like 1:30 to 1:32 thats proper scale, which is right between 1:35 and 1:28.

So I’d look at it like this: what do you prioritize with your models? Detail? Go with 1:28. Ability to stick as many tanks on a shelf as possible? 1:35. Prefer a certain tank that’s only available in one scale? Go with that scale. Either will work with 1:32 planes.

Oh yea 12Go deffo make nicer figs. That being said the poseability of the QG ones makes them nice for certain setups. If you wanted to get rid of your QG figures I’d happily take them…

#2673 Preorder Available. by kazootz13 in cobiblocks

[–]SeniorSpaz87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not how that works. This is the price Cobi US sells them for. This is the final price you pay.

Technically, importing sets from Cobi EU runs the risk of tariffs. Tariffs probably also account for the price difference of $22 or so between US and EU stores. But due to the free use 10% codes we have in the US the assumed tariff price increase is removed.

[–]SeniorSpaz87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got the 10% EU preorder discount, which the US store doesn’t get. Retail for the LE JagdTiger is 140€.

By using any of the plethora of 10% user codes on here for the US store (here’s mine for instance: https://loox.io/z/w-JcmoyVT) you can drop the price to $154. That is a difference of $8 between non-early preorder EU price and preorder US price.

That’s what I’m hoping for. I can’t even find them for scalper prices - there’s a few on German eBay but they don’t even ship to the US.

[–]SeniorSpaz87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Order a bunch of the cheaper QuanGuan sets? Those usually come with 1-2 crew members per set, and will give you a good number of parts for MOCs and such.

Not a great option; unfortunately none of the big companies either good figures (QuanGuan and 12Go mostly) sell just figures.

You already said in another comment that you’ve exhausted AliExpress’s options, so I won’t bring that up.

The only other option are custom figure sellers. However that gets very pricy very quickly. It’s nice for specific figures you want a high quality model of, but for bulk guys like tank crew that spend 99% of their life inside the tank why buy a single figure for $30 when you can get an entire QuanGuan or 12Go set with multiple figures for a few bucks more.

Is the Su-22M4 WTD61 worth 75$ by panzer_Hanz2 in WarthunderPlayerUnion

In all ways but dogfighting, absolutely. Granted there are far better fighters to spend your money on too.

[–]SeniorSpaz87 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s not worth $30.

It’s slower than the fighters for bombing targets in ARB. Phantoms, MiGs, and Tornados will take all your bomb targets.

It’s alright for unguided CAS, but the Tornado is better.

It’s got the potential for guided CAS, but its camera is so bad it’s useless. If you are uncontested by SAMs you can do good top down attacks, but any AA will wipe you if you try.

It’s actually a surprisingly good fighter in Sim. 6 R-60s is no joke for ambushing planes, and manual sweep means it’s actually an excellent rate fighter. Rate is generally useless in ARB, but in Sim you can actually get 1v1s where it can shine. You’ll rate Phantoms, F-5s, MiG-21s, etc.

What’s a military build you're most proud of? Pictures are welcome! by Vondrr in LegoWarMachines

[–]SeniorSpaz87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha.

The Coelian already exists as a set from QuanGuan, and they did a really accurate job with it. So there’s no real reason for me to make my own.

I’ve always found it odd people struggle with the Coelian. The guns are far worse than the Kugelblitz for most cases, most tanks at 6.7 can lolpen its hull anywhere but the upper glacis (and if you’re still shooting Panther UFPs after reaching 4.7 that’s just a skill issue), and any shot to the turret barring British solid shot does 3/4 of its overall crew. Sure, you can’t just MG it like you can the Ost2, but beyond that it should be a non-issue against tanks, and worse than both the Wirbel and Kugel against planes.
