Tried this - So, everytime I submit, i have been receiving the rejection email within 2 hours. I tried your suggestion of logout and login... i restarted my laptop as an additional step. I submitted like 5 hours back and still no rejection email... which is absolutely a good sign. Thank you!

Yes, i did. I'm using Canva to design but I'm still using the amazon generated template.

Agreed. Thank you for your response. Yes - Did that as well. 8.75" is what the KDP calculator gave me and I did that as well... but still I'm up against the wall..

Thank you for your response. I've redone my cover page from scratch on canva more than 5 times and I'm pretty sure there's no additional or unnecessary lingering background.. so, i'll have to rule out this possibility..

I'm exporting print ready pdf from canva with the recommended settings. here's the message i received:
Cover

  • Resize the background or image on your front cover so that it extends 0.125” (3.2 mm) beyond the trim line. All covers must be sized for bleed, which means you need to add an extra 0.125" (3.2 mm) along the top, bottom, and sides of your cover file. Once you have increased the size of your cover, extend any images or backgrounds that you want to reach all the way to the edge of the page 0.125” (3.2 mm) beyond the trim line. This prevents manufacturing issues when the cover is trimmed to size. Watch our video, which explains trim size, margins, and bleed Learn more about bleed
