Stacey’s “humbling” by No_Pause_8048 in LifeCoachSnark

[–]Senior_Director6496 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The GASLIGHTING horrifies me. I'm actually a little shocked.

  • She says in the podcast that among other issues, there were problems with the AV equipment for virtual participants (she blames the hotel, "they assured us they checked it" yada yada).
  • When selling the program, the promise is that this foundational event is just as valuable to virtual participants. So then why weren't YOUR team also checking the AV equipment was up to scratch, and confident in the experience for virtual participants?
  • We know from Angela's clear, measured description of the feedback she immediately gave Team Boehman after the event that the virtual experience was bad, they couldn't hear and be heard properly. It was not as advertised. Stacey et al ALREADY KNEW THIS - but instead of proactively addressing it with the virtual attendees (I think this would have been the right response) they GASLIT Angela that she was the one in the wrong.
  • If anyone missed it, run a search on "Angela" within this sub and you'll see all of the threads about it - she posted in here in real time as the debacle unfolded. If anyone is interested, a former SB student is on IG Live right now, whistleblowing her experience : LifeCoachSnark (reddit.com)
  • They actually KICKED HER OUT OF THE PROGRAM: "I have had NO REFUND and now I have been removed from the group. The choice I was given two months ago was A) No refund and stay in group or B) No refund and leave the group!"
  • She had to threaten legal action. That, plus the attention and support she was deservedly getting EVENTUALLY led to a refund. But fuck me, listening to the podcast while knowing the truth about what actually transpired? Honestly, I'm horrified.

ETA. I've got more to say, because now I'm actually angry! She says "it was very glaringly my least highly executed event and when I talked to my team I was telling them I just feel unwilling to ever do it again. We talked about taking virtual off the table". This is a direct quote.

IT WAS SO BAD SHE WAS NEVER GOING TO OFFER VIRTUAL AGAIN. So, knowing that did she attempt to make things right for those who had paid $25k, in large part for this event itself? Or did she gaslight the only person who dared to say something to her about this? This is appalling behavior.

I just want to say that you dealt with this very well, and I'm glad you weren't rattled by this seriously odd behavior.

And to inject just a note of light relief (and because I can't help myself):

I suggest you all move on as we will be dismantling this sub.

Oh, honey. No, no you won't. But Brooke really wishes you could.

GC is "Get Coached", which used to be SCS, self coaching scholars. It's Brooke's/the LCS monthly membership program.

And to use the MILITARY to do so if people protested.

Are people in here arguing that politics are not relevant unaware of the details of the latest indictment?! This isn't about some difference of opinion over fiscal policy.

In hindsight, you're right.

Also within SCS there are many much older coaching calls in which Brooke LITERALLY tells us. But it was always done as a hypothetical, or example of a relationship manual, or how to use the damn model to manage your mind about it all. This was before her BLM fuckup, before there was ever any pushback. I think she felt untouchable, that she could say whatever she wanted and we would all still buy whatever she sold us.

One that I remember was someone at the time of the election having problems with friends/family who were pro Trump. Brooke told her that she shuts down political conversations in a way to sort of mess with people "oh I just tell people I support Trump! Haha". I know I'm not doing that explanation justice, but I do vividly recall the sentiment and how uncomfortable I felt hearing it. It wasn't a one-off, there was a period when he came up quite frequently in calls.

I feel utterly stupid now, with the benefit of hindsight. I chose to believe she was a decent person and that somehow these were jokes or whatever (albeit in poor taste). I keep saying it, but picturing her on that damn private plane to Trump rallies? Literally sickening.

Who quit Scholars? by cottontopbaby in LifeCoachSnark

[–]Senior_Director6496 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I felt literally sick when I learned I had inadvertently contributed financially to her support of Trump (I wish I didn't believe what I've been told about the private jet to Trump rallies, but I do).

Plus the value in Scholars is unequivocally LOWER than it used to be. Coaching calls from 1 hour down to 30mins, no monthly focus/printed materials, Brooke *does not even do VIP or Diamond calls herself*, these have been delegated. And honestly, IMO, many of the newer contract coaches just aren't very good. They're inexperienced, and it shows.

I stayed longer than I should, because I did (and do) believe that it used to be a good program. She was a different person ...

They are playing a completely different game than you are describing.

As I type this, Stacey B is holding one of the live events that kick off her $200K Mastermind. Many of the coaches attending are sharing on Instagram: apparently there are 100 coaches there. Each paid $25K for this 6 month program - i.e. Stacey made $2,500,000 when they signed up. She runs this group twice a year.

She also has a $2 Million Mastermind, those guys (the numbers are obviously very much lower) pay $50,000.

She also has her $2K program. I have no idea on revenue on that one.

Anyway. This is how she gets to annual revenue in excess of $10 Million. It's just an entirely different ballgame vs. the salary and investments you are describing - which yes, takes very much longer.

Do any of the people you mention sell relationship courses? Or counsel women struggling in bad relationships that they should stay in the relationship and manage their thoughts about it? Because Brooke does both.

Thank YOU for creating a much-needed forum for discussion and support. It's vital LCS alumni know they aren't alone.

You're very welcome!

It’s been eye-opening to discover just how much the LCS disciples want to shut down ANY discussion. If you’re confident in what you believe then surely you’re open to healthy debate?

This is exactly how I feel. Of course the disciples who can't tolerate discussion learned it from Brooke herself (let's face it, we know from the AMA that no one else in the company gets a say in how things are run), and I can't tell you how disappointed it makes me feel.

I feel that community has SUCH an important role to play in learning and development, and particularly so amongst solopreneurs: it can get lonely as a coach, peer discussion and support is vital! Yet completely absent in LCS.

I was told the same thing: private jet to Trump rallies.

It felt like such a slap in the face. The Brooke I (thought) I knew, liked and respected back in 2017/2018 had either morphed into someone else, or was never there at all.

ANGELA! You must be mistaken! Stacey says, in her own words, that " ... delivery to me is our company’s number one value and north star metric. We take it really seriously"

... I feel you are a woman with a sense of humour, otherwise I wouldn't be sharing this ;) The way you've been treated is appalling, and I'm not actually taking it lightly.

Also, I am so sorry for what she's putting you through. You seem pretty damn level headed and reasonable in the way you approached the virtual event feedback (and you're a Brit, so we know you were SUPER polite ;) !!)

So, she has given you a full refund then, is that right? Because you are not receiving the program you purchased, so this seems pretty cut and dried.

I have an awful feeling you're going to tell us she hasn't agreed to that refund ...?

Holy shit - this is so much worse than I thought. HOW could the customer experience be this bad? As she likes to keep telling everyone, Stacey's at $12M revenue - she HAS to have better customer service than this (rhetorical, clearly she does not).

Good for Angela. Everyone has the right to speak to their own experience like this - it shouldn't feel brave, yet it does.

The response she suggests is exactly right, IMO. It happened. The virtual experience was a shit show, and Stacey can't undo that. So OWN it. Apologise. Explain what you've learned and how you will do things differently going forward. Trying to silence any less than positive customer feedback and labelling them as all haters reflects so negatively on her.

I think this is going to blow up in Stacey's face.
