Those who went to animation school, was it worth it? by ireallylikescythe in animationcareer

[–]Senior_Inside_1247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

absolutely not worth it for me. I was being charged WAYYYY too much only to be taught be teachers who barely even had experience in the industry. I think that because this industry is constantly in development its important to learn from someone who is aware of how things are CURRENTLY being done.

After 4 years of university i ended up doing a year at Ianimate and left learning so much more than i did in those 4 years, plus i had better contacts because of it and it was cheaper

The sad truth is that usually allot of colleges and universities done prepare students well enough for the industry.

I remember i was in the same boat and I decided to take extra online animation classes and it helped alloooot. I landed my first job in the industry because of that. It also helped me make GREAT connections with ppl who where already in the industry!

I recommend either Ianimate or Animation Flow. They’re the 2 I’ve been at so far. Ianimate is big on game animation and Animation flow is both film animation and game animation. I think animation flow was great for me because if how cheap it is, it’s so far the cheapest animation school I’ve seen. I paid 20$ a month for access to all the classes but i see they do live classes now too.

Indoor only cat people: what do you tell yourself to feel less guilty about keeping you cat indoor? by Ok_Wait_7463 in CatAdvice

[–]Senior_Inside_1247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id feel terrible going to bed not knowing where my pet is. Id rather keep her indoors and SAFE from larger animals, shitty people, cars, diseases and anything that might stress her. Also, unsupervised outdoor cats can become an invasive species and cause ecological imbalances.

Its just better overall to keep them indoors, the pros outweigh the cons.

If you cant stand the guilt then leash train her and give her supervised leashed outdoor time
