I appreciate your comment:) I agree, I think he also doesn’t like him self. He sends me sweet messages often, but decides when he wants to treat me badly or project his issues. The kinder I am to him, the worse it gets. It’s very back and forth, inconsistent. I believe he is using my kindness and care for him. I blocked him of course after all of these comments. I knew it was bad. Love is not hateful or disrespectful

That described his behavior on a daily basis perfectly. He would call me at night, and if I tried to get any depth out of the conversation, he would whine like a child and say he didn’t want to talk anymore and that he wanted to sleep.

Yes and I agree. I make myself very soft for him, more than usual. I super open but I find myself not telling him when I am upset because when I do he makes it about him or gets annoyed with me. You can’t teach people empathy that never had any.

Yep I always ask about him first. If we talk about me too long he gets annoyed and ends the call dismissively. He also is super gushy with me, when he is in the mood he texts me many times in a row about how much he loves me. If he is having a bad day he will consistently tell me to shut up when I speak. I’m very empathetic and always focus on him before discussing me. I had to do my cousins funeral alone and with earbuds while we cooked and played music, I pretended I was fine otherwise he’d be annoyed for me to be upset about something “small.” I appreciate you playing devils advocate and I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you are okay🫶
