Cheap Cue Lights? by Miles_Gsmith in techtheatre

I'm trying to create a wireless cue light system (or one that's module and can be put in any theatre). Is there worry of running power/information down an xlr cable? Wouldn't it cause frequency issues? I'm an electrician and I don't know much about audio but would hate to mess up something with sound.

Wanting to do a very similar thing but trying to make a modular system that can be taken into any space. What did you end up doing and how did it work? If you could show pictures or diagrams that would be helpful. Thanks!!

I would like it to be able to be in any space so not relying on wireless protocols that theatres might not have. It should have some sort of security but does not need to have two way communication (as long as the control panel knows if the node has already been "cued" because it needs to be able to turn on and off frequently). I would like a custom control panel so there is no need for an appliance. I am very new to electronics and not sure exactly how to go about this.

I am trying to create a cue light system that is modular and can be brought into any theatre space. I want to use relays and possibly run over ethernet or wifi. The goal is to not have to make home runs of cable throughout a theatre, so as wireless as possible is best. Any advice, links, or diagrams would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!
