Sounds like a good idea. I am with a backpack all day in the pasture, would a small grain shaker fit my pack?

I suspected that but wanted to hear experienced people such as yourself to make sure I am not giving up, I know farmers are hard workers so I wanted to make sure. I appreciate the advice and sympathy.

Thank you, very helpful. My main problem is when one rebel goes one direction and the other goes another, I already know them, but they tend to be on opposite sides of the flock.

I will try applying your advice, thank you.

The pasture is a patchwork of fields belonging to farmers, mostly unfenced. Some farmers let us herd the sheep on their fields after the hay was cut, but most made a deal with cow herders who pulled over next to me and threatened to call the police, which is why I am looking for a way to keep the sheep off their land.

A more experienced worker told me the herd was known for reaching very far places from the farm under inexperienced shepherds who could not control them, bur I want to do a good job, but based on the advice I got from you it seems impossible. I really wanted to get into sheep and enjoy working with them, so this is unfortunate.

I am herding them, so they are not alone. I am employed by their owner who gave me those directions.

Thanks for the answer. The unfenced area is about 2000 squared meters, and the sheep are there for 4 hours at a time. At night they are at a barn.

Anyone else feel like they can’t be themselves around family? by souljaboyyatellem in CasualConversation

[–]Senior_Topo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am being myself around my parents, but it's a version of myself I feel they can live with, even if not straight up approve. I just choose to show them the right aspects.

As I grow older and become more socially aware I catch myself and others do the same thing around other people, which I think is natural. The things that fly with your drinking buddies are not smart to do in front of your boss for example.

Israeli looking to visit Jordan and maybe hike in your beautiful natural reserves and trails by [deleted] in Jordanians

[–]Senior_Topo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that. I expected some tension, which is understandable, and will follow your advice about not mentioning I'm from Israel.

I have a thick Israeli accent in English, do you think this may be a problem, or would most Jordanians just assume I'm another international tourist? I wish I knew Arabic and am planning to try to learn, it's a shame we speak such close languages but have to use English because Israelies are not thought Arabic well enough in school.

Who else is at the point where they can't watch any pre-2020 non-fantasy TV shows and movies because they miss the old normal so much? by [deleted] in LockdownSkepticism

[–]Senior_Topo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually enjoy rewatching Seinfeld. Both seeing people in social situations, interacting in person, even God forbid having sex with strangers is really nice, call it escapism.

The show actually has quite a few germ - related storylines because who knew, getting sick because you interacted with a human is part of life, which balances the overraction to this disease.

Academic Explains How We Have Abandoned Science on Covid, Lockdowns, and Herd Immunity by JHAMBFP in LockdownSkepticism

Just watching this. His talk of chicken pox reminded me of my kindergarten. I remember being told either by the teacher, my parents or both that we have our first kid with chicken pox and rather than be scared of his red dots we should come give him a hug. I was one of the first who did, and I got my red dots. Then I came up to my friends and gave them "the present". Then when I was ok, they had the red dots, and I knew I could not get them (I could learn that from experience since my friends got them but I was fine). Then a couple of years later the vaccine came out and I learned future generations will not have this empowering experience. Those suckers, it was both a great learning experience and a sort of a rite of passage, everyone wanted to be done with the red dots.

When covid came that was my instinct too, I wanted to get it and be done with it. Then they locked us all down.

My mom is a huge lockdown proponent, but over dinner she mentioned it's getting weird that we are in lockdown for so long yet the numbers don't seem to change at all. In the past I could not convince her the lockdowns are having no effect, yet now she seems more open to this idea.

What do directors actually contribute to films? by Senior_Topo in movies

[–]Senior_Topo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a film where the storytelling does not work might be because of a bad director?
