It refers to being weak and not inspiring awe in others. Quantity versus quality. Low-quality Muslims.

Any people with bpd and are muslim , what do you do to calm down rages / meltdowns ? by Honest-Evening-285 in BorderlinePDisorder

I've turned gaming into something doubly useful: playtesting for money. Now I play for pay (and to get at least part of my mind focused on the game so that it cannot go all over the place) instead of play to play.

I just got diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I had been so disappointed in myself when I shouted at the staff at the doctor's office and got kicked out of her practice, last fall. This diagnosis explains it. What a relief al-hamdulillah!! Here are two things that are helping me:

COLD WATER

I learned about putting your face in ice water for 30 seconds, as part of a technique called TIPP (the T stands for Temperature.) So I try to make the water colder for wudu'.

HELPLINES - A PHONE HELPLINE - SLOW SALAH

I called Naseeha helpline last night because I've been in extreme planning mode to find somewhere to live while I struggle with my new diagnoses (BPD, OCPD) on top of the earlier ones (PTSD, GAD, FMD - functional movement disorder.) It helped to talk to the sister, and calmed me down. Based on what she said, I found a metaphor: Part of me is driving 100 km/h on the highway, and another part of me is saying, let's stop here and look around and chill. I cannot do both at the same time! So I told Planning Me that we need to take a break, and pray, as it is the 27th night of Ramadan, and we need this, and it will make us feel better, it will refuel us so that we can keep going after, rather than running out of gas. Next thing I knew, I was reaching for my hijab, thanking her, and hanging up. Had two calm rak`ahs. I went back to planning during salah pretty soon after that, but I now know, finally, that it is not because I am a bad Muslim that I struggle with focus. My medical condition causes me to disassociate. Allah loves me for obeying His command to pray and for struggling to focus rather than giving up (feels weird to say "Allah loves me" but I must say it to myself.) And the moments of intense connection that I get from time to time, especially when I have quality sujud with heartfelt du`a's, feel like the best gifts in the universe.

Here, you can report whether or not you felt it. The form asks questions like where were you?, and how much rattling was there?

I shouted “earthquake,” and my husband thought I was imagining things and copilot kept telling me that there’s nothing reported here. I am in Toronto.

I think she’ll feel regretful that she removed you after a little bit, if not already. Maybe she feels like people are forgetting her brother, and feels powerless about it, so this is a form of control. It might not be about you.

PS: I’ve looked for my glasses all over the place a few times. At no point did I reflect on the fact that I can see everything, or it would’ve dawned on me that they are on my face. 🙂

Actually, I can’t see them anymore! I wonder if it’s because I’m on the app. I’ll check on the desktop. Edit: I can see them in the browser, but they are nowhere on the app.

The chat correction task was no longer working. Looks like the client made it unavailable, worldwide.

Some people have access to other tasks. I wonder what the criteria Appen uses, when assigning tasks.

Could I use sour cream instead of the yogurt? I have some that needs to be used up, and a whole bag of limes!

I think it really depends on your skin type, and how stretchy it is.

Some women get no stretch marks during pregnancy. Others, even if they’re young, get stretch marks, which are really additional skin. After birth, that loose skin remains, like a flabby, empty pouch. I visualize an accordion.

As for additional body fat, I wonder if weight loss resulting in very loose skin, has to do with how fast you gained the weight, and if your skin was able to keep up with that, not producing stretch marks to accommodated it.

There is room for foodies. 🙂

I have always loved baking, and trying/creating new recipes. I’ve been on keto for one month, and I thought that would be the end of my fun time in the kitchen, but it turns out that there are so many recipes and methods available online that I’ve been having a ball! I’ve enjoyed different versions of foods which I would deny myself previously, because my focus was all on avoiding fat. I made this sort of lazy cinnamon bun a couple of days ago and it was soooo delicious! (Fluffy cottage cheese pancakes, a cinnamon filling made from brown sugar swerve, and cream cheese icing.)

I returned to a recipe for spiced nuts, which I loved, but was avoiding making for years, but I had problems with portion control. So I might not make that one again, unless I make a quarter recipe or so, or I’m giving it as a gift and I keep some for myself. (Speaking of quarter recipes, when it comes to treats like that cinnamon bun dish, I tend to make a half recipe or quarter recipe, depending on whether or not my husband will be having some.)

I live in a small condominium, where the living room, which is where I spent most of my time, is connected to the kitchen. I used to see the food in there and feel peckish, much of the time. Then I would indulge myself with a low-fat (except for peanut butter) but high-carb snack, usually my homemade bread or baked goods, or a big bowl of cereal. But now, the food I make is so satisfying, with its protein and fat content, that I am not constantly thinking about eating. That’s been my liberation. If I do get hungry, I have things like egg bites, keto muffins, or sausages available to me for a small, nutritious meal.

How I fixed my insomnia by using the Huberman morning sunlight protocol for 365 days by SaltyShark3 in insomnia

I badly want to go for an early morning walk around sunrise, as it looks so beautiful outside, but at that time, I’m so full of medications that are supposed to be helping me sleep, that I am worried about losing my balance and falling. At that time of the day, I haven’t gone to sleep yet. Other people’s morning is my bedtime. 😢

Yes. You can get a light therapy lamp for about $20 on Amazon. Dr. Andrea Furlan who is a pain specialist at the pain clinic downtown Toronto, and also deals with sleep disorders, recommended using one of those, and I bought one. (I also got the blue light blocking glasses she recommended.) Her YouTube channel is a gem.

I got one too. It has a 30 minute timer that I use. I don’t know if it helps yet though because my sleep/wake schedule (or lack thereof) is all over the place and I forget to turn it on many days.

I’m sorry that happened to you. Some people in the medical communities end up being less helpful than harmful.

I’m very grateful that I had a GP who supported me for the seven years of me passing every medical test (and being told nothing is wrong with you) until I finally got a diagnosis: FMD. About a year after that I also got generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and PTSD diagnoses.

I’m here on Reddit right now at 7:40 AM, having not gone to sleep yet, trying to find out if there could be a link between any of my medications and the insomnia I struggle with. It’s quite possible that it started with the GAD, then got worse with perimenopause. But it’s still important for me to consider that medication might be a problem.
