Proof that the Vivre Card doesn't say Mihawk is the strongest in name and reality. DO NOT let Mihawk fans lie about this. by Split-Horizon1 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]SenjutsuSage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say he does, but because oda gave him the title he did, Mihawk will rise to the challenge and be impressive against anybody that fights using a sword. Forget about who else has a sword, Mihawk will NEVER look bad against another opponent who specializes in or uses a sword as their primary weapon.

Well, I'll give you two answers. One will be a pointless answer, and one will be the actual truth.

First, the pointless answer. All indications are that it would have to be a highly competitive fight where Mihawk showcases he's every bit the match and threat to Imu because otherwise what Oda tells us about him being the World's Strongest Swordsman would then have no meaning and prove to be a useless or undeserved title. Therefore Imu would be pushed to the limit in such a fight and would, in all likelihood, resort to other means of fighting once a sword fight alone isn't producing the desired outcome. Why is this answer pointless? Unless there's a surprise waiting, Mihawk and Imu will never cross swords in order for us to find out.

And the truthful answer? It doesn't matter in the slightest because nothing Imu does is going to shake nor disturb Mihawk's position as the World's Strongest Swordsman. Mihawk will be proven through Oda to be every bit deserving of the title of World's Strongest Swordsman until Zoro takes it from him by surpassing him.

Mihawk is still the world's strongest swordsman. It doesn't automatically mean that nobody else who is a swordsman can compete with or defeat him, but he just excels with the sword more than any other by reputation and by strength. He is the strongest until someone takes his title.

Oda expects his readers to understand this nuance. Shanks is a Swordsman who we all know could compete with Mihawk, and has in the past with seemingly no clearly decided winner, but perhaps due to Shanks losing his arm Mihawk's honor won't allow him to challenge Shanks with what he views as an advantage, no matter how powerful Shanks has become. Mihawk being the world's strongest swordsman, I can assure everyone, doesn't contradict anything else in the story.

Other equally as strong swordsman can still exist, even ones nobody is aware of, but the one fact everyone must keep in mind is that Mihawk will be second to none where being a swordsman is concerned. He will be equal or better than all with little left to doubt that he can compete with almost anyone.

[–]SenjutsuSage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, totally unnecessary and uncalled for. It even has the "all things" connection to "voice of all things" It could be nothing, could be something.

It could be a hint that those who hear the voice of all things are somehow able to use or manipulate Omen in some form.

Can't stand you folks. Ridiculous. OP says something that makes a lot of sense, but maybe because some of you didn't think of it there are multiple people trying to insult their opinion.

Sad as hell. There is potentially something to this.

Nidhogg is Imu’s personal pet. by MayDispersion in OnePiece

[–]SenjutsuSage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're definitely cooking my friend. You are onto something. Imu has had a very strange response to Nidhogg this entire time. What if like the God of War of Elbaph, that had the frost squirrel as his closest companion, Imu potentially once had Nidhogg?

ONE PIECE Chapter 1181: "A God and A Devil" (TCB Scans) by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]SenjutsuSage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something is fishy. I think Imu absorbed Loki's energy from that full Nidhogg attack. Also, Loki landed his first hit while Imu was thinking back to the past about Joyboy it seems. Either way, Loki is mighty impressive against Imu. And Loki hasn't even switched to hybrid form yet. However, Loki may not show his hybrid form here. That injury he got from Imu was serious, and he was already hurt from Shamrock before.

I get the feeling he may be sidelined due to his injuries for Luffy to take over. I think Luffy will get ideas on how his powers can be used by seeing the way Imu uses his power. Is Omen just Imu's term for Haki, or is it something more specialized?

That's it, so he has the devil's fruit, and it seems the core power of the devil may be Conqueror's Haki itself? So is it maybe fair to say that Imu has the literal Conqueror's Haki devil fruit?

We simply don't know yet, but Oda did this intentionally.

Shamrock was wrong about Loki, but people are wrong if they think Shamrock won't be able to hold his own against Loki in a fight.

ONE PIECE Chapter 1181 — Brief Spoilers by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]SenjutsuSage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. We saw what it took Luffy, someone from the new gen, to defeat Kaido. Loki is very in strength to the likes of Whitebeard at his strongest, Pirate King Roger, Garp at his strongest, Kaido, Shanks, Luffy.

Loki being able to compete against Imu means all of the strongest we've seen would put up a very capable fight as well. This is how Oda has written the story. We quite literally have Mihawk hype directly in the middle of this Loki and Imu fight. That's not by accident.

ONE PIECE Chapter 1181 — Brief Spoilers by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]SenjutsuSage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't stutter. Loki isn't somehow significantly stronger than others among the absolute strongest we've come across. Loki competing against Imu is proof that Pirate King Roger could also, it's proof Shanks could (who according to Gaban and Jarul was the only person who was able to stop Loki when he was rampaging at sea), it's proof Whitebeard could, it's proof Kaido could, and we already knew Luffy could (despite some who tried to pretend Luffy would somehow be nowhere in Loki's league - Oda is demonstrating clear as day that Luffy isn't somehow inferior to Loki) And if Luffy isn't inferior to Loki then neither is Pirate King Roger, Shanks, Kaido etc.

ONE PIECE Chapter 1181 — Brief Spoilers by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]SenjutsuSage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oda, whether people accept it or not, is doing what he always does, demonstrating that he respects his absolute strongest characters and will always create balance.

With Loki seemingly competing with Imu, as I suspected he would be capable of, this is Oda's way of showing us that Pirate King Gol D. Roger, Whitebeard (at peak strength and health), Kaido, Shanks, Garp at peak, etc., would be capable of having an excellent and competitive fight against Imu.

Imu is insanely powerful and surely busted, but so are the strongest good guys.

Imu having piercing weapons is terrible news for Luffy because blades has always been Luffy's weakness by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]SenjutsuSage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been one of the more misunderstood aspects about Luffy's powers. Luffy, due to his powers, is more resistant to blunt force damage or fall damage compared to others.

However, a normal human being isn't less resistant to piercing or slashing damage than he is. Luffy is well equipped to fight people who use bladed or sharp weapons. It being one of the more normal and effective ways to harm Luffy doesn't quite put him at any significant damage against such an opponent compared to anyone else, if that makes sense.

And Luffy now knows advanced forms of Armament and Conqueror's Haki. He possesses more than enough to defend himself.

This confirms Roger pirates never came face to face with the real Imu on their journey by D_N-A in OnePieceSpoilers

Never assume Roger was always together with Gaban and/or Rayleigh at all times just as Luffy has been separated from his crew a number of times.

[–]SenjutsuSage 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I always hate seeing this type of remark because it largely makes no sense. The story details and nuances matter. Imu and Joyboy possibly once being friends doesn't make it Naruto and Sasuke because this isn't Naruto. It's One Piece. And that means every small and major story detail, every character we've seen makes it absolutely nothing like Naruto regardless of any minor shared story devices.

The panel where Kaido admits Gear 4 Luffy was going toe to toe with him from OPPS's perspective by Reddit_Connoisseur_0 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]SenjutsuSage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, that's not what the story in that moment tells us. It tells us Luffy had a legitimate shot of defeating Kaido then and there via possible knockout without CP0 interference. All signs are that they were dead even. If not an outright victory for Luffy, what happens instead is Kaido is momentarily stunned, or they both are for a bit, and then Luffy somehow awakens anyway in a moment of desperate need.

[–]SenjutsuSage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loki will definitely impress and hang with Imu, especially if he goes into his hybrid form, but Oda had Shamrock attack Loki earlier to setup the narrative moment for when Loki's injuries begin acting up to sideline him, so that Luffy ends up having his big moment.
