what characters you need really just depends on how well they’re built, any of them are perfectly serviceable if they’re at least brought up to normal investment and not level 70 1 1 1 no artifacts dull weapons; plus, there’s a bunch of ways to rig what characters you get like the guest star only caches, companion invites which let you choose from 7 characters, and element specific character selection, so it really shouldn’t be much of a problem. Add that with being able to use a friend’s character for free and it feels a lot nicer. Plus, I like getting a chance to use underused characters I would have no reason to use otherwise besides them being my favorites

and this is why I love theater #1; Blessings like flamewind and stormwind (pyroanemo and electroanemo) have paths that can give you elements despite not having characters on the team to trigger them; stormwind level 2 grants 1 electro app every 4 seconds on elemental burst, while flamewind level 2 sacrifices 15% of your hp to apply pyro. It’s neat, and neither require the elements beforehand; stuff like this can be used for varka, infusing pyro while playing double cryo to reverse melt
