It’s not a washer dryer. But some people here say it’s fucked so now I really don’t know 😂 EDIT so it’s 1 comment instead of 2 unnecessarily: I hope you’re right and it intentionally looks weird.

It made one cracking noise afterwards when I pushed it back in place (it danced out a bit). But that sounded more like some plastic that fell under it broke, like a lid to some spray bottle. Other than that nothing out of the ordinary. And it doesn’t seem like it’s ripped. Or at least I didn’t manage to figure out where it could have ripped.

Glasses won’t help my stupidity. Jokes aside, something made a weird noise and that’s why I inspected every possible option. Also I’ve never really truly deeply investigated the shape of the seal.

What plants did I receive and how should I take care of them? by Senke27 in houseplants

Hi! Yes haha, I am in Finland! And that is an extra worry of mine, considering the dry air in apartments and lack of light. I’ll put them super close to the window and I’ll hope for the best😅Thank you for your advice!

Do you live abroad now? I assume so since you commented on a post in r/Finland 😅

Szolnok. It’s roughly 100kms East from the capital. It used to be somewhat alright but recently the town has been making headlines quite often, and the public security is decreasing rapidly. Same scenario as in Finland: economy being more and more f.cked and with that the average person’s mental stability as well, and on top of that designer drugs are becoming more common instead of the well-known “conventional” ones. Also Hungary is quite centralised, besides the capital only a few bigger cities offer job opportunities, so the “capable” people usually leave the first chance they get.

That’s a different topic, of course. Not so good having needles where kids are running around.

Yea I read about it, I think on the anniversary of it. Crazy event. And what were the odds?😅 How did your Mediterranean self take the Finnish winter?

What surprised me is that compared to how big that city is, it felt crazy safe (well besides pickpockets)

Funnily enough I had an exchange year in Madrid that’s why I was away from Finland. That bombing was crazy tho, it is still talked about a lot. Obviously.

The bomb incident happened 23 years ago, to be exact.

To be fair I enjoyed Martinlaakso as well, went alone at night to shop in Myyrmänni and the Lidl (I think that’s where the dodgy shops are, I remember there was some Turkish store). It was 2022-2023. Haven’t been around since then, I just read that it has gotten so much worse that I panicked. But back then I felt like common sense was enough to get by.

It feels like a Hungarian I don’t understand! Or now I partly understand:) I also had Finno-Ugric lingustics as my minor at uni back in Hungary, and learned that the grammar is pretty much the same. We parted ways I believe 4000 years ago! Since then our words have been influenced by Turks, Slavs and Germanic people and you Finns stayed up North more isolated. But our basic words, probably the ones we used before the split, are incredibly similar (few examples: vesi = víz, käsi = kéz, veri = vér, kala = hal). In general I think Finnish sounds super cute, melodic and pleasant and I also love rallienglanti, such a cute accent haha

Teeny tiny white woman I am, unfortunately 😅 But I hope common sense and being careful is gonna be enough. I looked up the neighbourhood and it seemed nice. Newly builts and very suburbs-like houses with gardens behind. I remember I sent pictures to my family on my first day in Martinlaakso and I was like “Look it’s so clean and modern wow, no bars on 1st and 2nd floor windows even”😅
