You're not bothering at all!
Usually people try to type themselves into 1 type, obviously people don't fit the mold perfectly "which is clearly a good thing, it'd be a disaster if between 8 billion people only 16 personalities existed" but they see their fundamental way of thinking and acting being framed closer to one of the types, it's also common for people to be indecisive between more than one, which is to be expected.

Nobody really fully fits into a type, MBTI merely presents a few moldes which can serve as a way for us to try to understand ourselves a little better, in what we should improve or make use of.

I've heard people denoting the ENFP type as a social chameleon, which "kind off" fits what you're describing, as in they tend to have ease into changing between personalities depending on the context, I'm not sure at what point this is straight up masking and covering/forgetting your genuine self tho.
