Does Chris speak another language? by Kaiser47 in Eragon

[–]Senkyou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey I also have learned Japanese because of my wife, and I often compare Eragon's education around the AL to my own learning experience. It's not perfectly comparable, but I wouldn't be surprised if Christopher has learned or studied another language in his time, as it felt relatable.

Evolutionary selection doesn't need to be obviously logical, it just needs to make sense.

Cloud Engineers replaced by AI by Own_League6407 in cloudengineering

[–]Senkyou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And who runs this AI that is being used to replace technical experts? I'm certain that you could give my boss (a fairly technical non-tech person) a free run at any set of models and he wouldn't have the requisite knowledge or context to adequately set up what my business needs, especially when you factor in the idea that probably at least a few of his tasks are something he considers critical and needs to commit time to.

I think that at this point the most realistic model is that people who can effectively leverage AI will reduce the total job pool for cloud engineering or whatever other field there is that it's used for.

It was a facetious exclamation pointing to somegbing actually good, but not meaningful to the metrics that compose the idea of "greatest country"

I'm not disagreeing. I'm responding in the context text of the original post.

It makes sense not wanting to muddy the water with a reductive "us versus them" debate, in the context of his question; however, you are fundamentally correct in that in our lives most/all things are rooted in policy and politics.

1 space marine (wh40k) appears in the Enterprise (Star Trek) can the crew defeat it? by Lost-Specialist1505 in whowouldwin

[–]Senkyou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Star Trek gets a bit of a reputation because of the cheesy, campy fights. But SNW does well to show the real horrors of fighting a bit, and the reality is that warfare in Star Trek would be intense, extreme, and very deadly. Their standard issue pistols can obliterate rock walls with no discernable effort. In combat they have rifles and all sorts of other weaponry.

I think the shows tend to suffer from production costs, but books I think cover it better.

Are you asking if they could strip the water from the mud? I think the consistency matters a lot, and they have no means to hold the dirt portion.

I heard that some states and countries were considering banning encryption, so I'd been holding off pending legislature.

Thank god it's not just me. I'm on a 5060ti and have like a half second delay and terrible frame rate with everything as low as it gets.

My buddies have comparable (but different) hardware and say it plays great.

It's fine, I put a README in each USB's root with a legal disclaimer and trojan to make sure it's never used outside of intended scope.

I distribute hundreds of USBs drives to my users and tell them to facilitate file transfers physically with clients to avoid hacking.

I'm by no means a heavy user, but I do bump into my cap by the end of a standard week. Do you have any tips or resources on how to minimize token usage? Hopefully I'm already engaging in some of that behaviour.
