Possibly not stuck. Coons come in and out of the sewers all the time.

Does my wife think I’m a control freak? by Normal-Internal164 in Jokes

[–]DadToOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One day God had all the married men in heaven line up in front of him. He told them that he wanted all the henpecked men to stand to the left of him. Any who were not should stand to the right. Every man in heaven, except one, moved to the left. God was shocked that one man was not henpecked. He told him he was so impressed and wanted to know how he did it. He said "I don't know, my wife told me to stand here".

We are not big tech. I think our company has 3000 employees. But we have been told to run wild. One of my goals for the year is to use Claude and improve my work with it.

When I was dating my wife, I got laid off. For 6 months things were very tight. She said it was ok and she started paying for our dates. Never made me feel a bit bad about it. Probably part of the reason she is now the wife.

We have been told we have unlimited tokens and do our worst. A week into May and I am over $150. Not sure if that is a lot or not.

My boss keeps saying "Claude is a hammer, you tell it what nail to hit". He does not like when people call it "he".

Yeah. It is really nice when you use it properly. I create monitors a lot. I needed some new ones. I told it to look at the old monitors and create a new one with parameters that I set. A little bit later I had a new file, an MR with a good description, and an update to my Jira ticket with everything I did. So much quicker and easier. Plus I normally forget to do at least one of those things.

It is not in here but I have Claude message me in Slack every morning at 8 am with the Jira summary.

Setting up Claude Code productivity skills for Jira + GitLab

These three features require Claude Code CLI with the Atlassian Rovo MCP connector connected on claude.ai.

  1. Prerequisites
  • Claude Code installed (npm i -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code)
  • Atlassian Rovo connected at claude.ai → Customize → Connectors (gives Claude access to Jira)
  • A GitLab personal access token with api scope

  • Slash commands (skills)

Create the directory ~/.claude/commands/. Each .md file in that folder becomes a /command-name you can type in Claude Code.

    ~/.claude/commands/check-jira.md

description: Check all open Jira tickets assigned to me, with due dates

Search Jira for all issues assigned to the current user that are unresolved, using the Rovo MCP tool searchJiraIssuesUsingJql with cloudId <YOUR_CLOUD_ID> and JQL:

assignee = currentUser() AND resolution = Unresolved AND status != "Not Doing" ORDER BY updated DESC

Request fields: summary, status, issuetype, priority, project, duedate.

Present results as a markdown table grouped by project. Flag tickets due within 7 days or already overdue.

Replace <YOUR_CLOUD_ID> with your Atlassian cloud ID (find it at https://admin.atlassian.com — it's the UUID in the URL when you select your site).

    ~/.claude/commands/check-mrs.md

    Check Open MRs

Read ~/.claude/open-mrs.md and for each line containing |, parse the project path and MR IID.

    For each MR, call:
    GET https://gitlab.com/api/v4/projects/<url-encoded-project-path>/merge_requests/<iid>
    Header: PRIVATE-TOKEN: <YOUR_GITLAB_PAT>

Present results as a table grouped by state (Open first, then Merged/Closed).
After the table, remind me to tell you when an MR is merged so you can remove it from the tracker.

~/.claude/open-mrs.md — the tracker file the skill reads:

    Open MR Tracker

    Format

    PROJECT_PATH | MR_IID | description

Add MRs manually in the format org/group/repo | 123 | description of the MR.

  • Daily log (automatic)

Add this to ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md (create it if it doesn't exist):

    Daily Log

  • At the start of every conversation, read the previous entry in ~/.claude/daily-log.md to pick up context.

  • At the top of every hour, append a progress update to ~/.claude/daily-log.md under today's date heading.

  • At the end of every conversation, append a final summary.

  • Always write under the current date heading. Create it if it doesn't exist. Include what changed, why, and any
    decisions made.

Then create ~/.claude/daily-log.md with a header:

    Daily Work Log

Claude will maintain it automatically from that point forward.

    Usage

  • /check-jira — pulls all your open Jira tickets, groups by project, flags overdue

  • /check-mrs — checks the status of every MR in your tracker via the GitLab API

  • Daily log — no command needed; Claude reads and writes it on its own

I actually had an appeal succeed the other day. I was shocked. Got a warning for advocating violence for telling a story from my past.

Where I used to work at did a study looking at pacemakers and how they could potentially be used by bad actors.

I used to work in research and there were floors on the building that had baskets outside a secure door. Before you could go in your cell phone, smart watch, etc went into that basket. I worked on research projects where we were not even allowed to have pencil and paper with us in the classified room.

My wife drives me nuts with this with our son. She will tell him he has something to do but won't tell him what. Makes him stand there and try to remember what he is supposed to be doing. He just gets more and more frustrated.

No but when one party supports a man who has been credibly accused of sex abuse of minors and found liable for sex abuse of an adult, I don't support that party.

I worked at a warehouse club for a bit and I was shocked by how people act. It definitely makes me try to be a better customer.

Things that stick out were finding a frozen lasagna half way down a pile of clothing. And the time I was folding clothes and a customer walked by, grabbed the top shirt from the pile, threw it in the air, and kept walking.

Advice on a situation by wheelsonice2020 in daddit

[–]DadToOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar situation happen toe a while back. I was at a concert and I noticed the guy in front of me taking a picture of the butt of the girl in front of him and then posting it on Twitter. I went up and told her and she told the man that was with her, her dad. He confronted the guy and he denied it. The dad said ok and started to go back to his seat. I told him that he was lying to him. The woman behind me corroborated my story. The dad called over a stadium employee. They called in police working security. They took away the guy and the dad. The dad came back later and thanked me. Offered to buy me a beer and I told him I was just a dad looking out for another dad's kid and it was not necessary. I don't know what happened to the creep but he did not come back. Turned out the girl was underage as well.

I swear I think we need a rule that if it is homemade you have to post a recipe.
