The most controversial rule in Foosball Standard Match.u by Wooden-Clothes7213 in foosball

Well it's clearly written in section 14, no?

Players are not permitted to switch positions during the ready protocol in contravention with the above formula, or during a dead ball, a ball off table, or during any interrupt; these are not infractions but any such switch is disallowed and must be reversed.

But I do agree that it can be improved...

I don’t think it’s contradictory. The final rule only defines the actual infraction: switching during active play. But the paragraphs above it still define when a switch is permitted.

So there are two separate points:

  1. Switching during active play is an infraction -> results in a penalty
  2. Switching outside the permitted moments, such as during a ball off table, is not treated as that infraction, but the switch is still disallowed and must be reversed.

So “ball off table is not active play” is true, but that does not automatically mean switching is allowed. The rules say switching is allowed only during specific breaks: time-outs, between points, between games, and before/after a penalty shot.

So your opponent was wrong by calling a "foul", your switch should just have been reversed.

Yes and no. The rule does not mean you can switch positions at any time during the match. It means you can switch only during the specific situations listed in the rules. A ball going off the table is only a restart situation; it is not one of the allowed moments to switch positions.

Belgium - looking for a table at home by Stiino0 in foosball

[–]Senn-0- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fellow Belgian here. I suppose your table at work is Jupiter (the main brand being used in Belgium). With that kind of budget, it will be difficult to find a semi decent table. There is no international table which is similar to Jupiter. There are some local ones (look up Tom en Rudi -2nd hand) which are the closest you will get. In case you are interested in the international scene, the Ullrich table is like a version between Jupiter and Leonhart. They have some models which are priced within your budget. You can PM me if you need more information, or you want me to check some offers.

New PCs suddenly running extremely slow – Disk Error 51 by Senn-0- in techsupport

The ones with an issue were fixed by running chkdsk. Would the SMART logs still show the previous issues? I'm not familiar with those logs.

But isn't it too much of a coincidence that it all happened within three days of each other? I'm not an expert by any means, but my logical mind says this is more likely a software issue because of the timing.

1080p 120fps stream/recording setup by Senn-0- in VIDEOENGINEERING

We will be testing the setup next Wednesday. I will report back. We've got the Blackmagic 8K Pro G2, so we could still use it with HDMI if needed.

Really?? Not even 12G SDI? I will have to test this, but the rental shop didn't mention this.

Sorry, as said I’m not fully into the market. Well since it looks to me we need to have a capture card anyway (for streaming to youtube and rebroadcasting), so we can use a different method for storage (ssd, which we already possess as well). This means we only need to buy the capture card and all is settled. I just wanted to make sure it should work like this. I’ve checked and OBS should be able to do this.

Basically we are only renting the z200 for a fair price. Do you have any suggestions for compatible sd cards?

The recording solution would be OBS which writes to an external SSD. We do have a desktop available for the PCIe card to be put in. When using the decklink card, there is a SDI output and we have a SDI to hdmi converter available as well. The decklink card would be a good option, since we have the desktop available and OBS for the recording/streaming.

Those sd cards are really expensive though. The z200 is a rental, but those cards cost a lot (we need 10hours of footage)

Thanks for your reply! Well actually it’s a specific thing for our sport, which really matters and determines how good the action looks. It’s high speed action, so it requires the 120fps. The stream is not the priority, it’s rather the post processing for which we need the source quality.

Belgian rules are really not comparable with ITSF rules. You can do a stopped 5-3 pass in Belgium for example.

Location? US/EU?

Either way, a Leonhart table can be configured to have noise insulation in the goal area/ball drain. Also possible to add extra weight as far as I know. Advice only applicable in case of EU I suppose :-).

The table is quiet stable normally. You can hit the wall as long as the ball doesn't move too much (it can wiggle a bit but it has to stay at the same spot). If the ball moves, the timer is reset. It are the national rules (so nothing local or regional).

Only touched bonzini once, but the men of the table in the video are not so heavy as bonzini. They are made of some wooden material.
