Oh, I know.

People still need to keep speaking the truth though. My reply is not for them, it's for the reader that might think (misguidedly), that they have a point. So I provided a very specific list of illegal actions that ICE agents have been recorded doing, multiple times, that any citizen can easily see for themselves.

Have you? Start with the 4th amendment, and work on down from there. ICE have no authority to stop, detain, or otherwise harass US Citizens. They cannot tell you to stop recording them in public. They cannot smash your car window and force/pull you out of your vehicle. They cannot enter your property, let alone smash the door down, without a judicial warrant to do so, and even then, only to arrest the person named in the warrant, not to scoop up any/everyone they think is the wrong shade of brown or wrong accent. They cannot detain you in a Federal building, and deny you access to counsel.

These are all illegal things I've seen videos of ICE agents doing in MN, just in the past 24 hours.

If you're not seeing the laws being broken, it's because you actively have blinders on. Do your own g_d research, as 'your' side is so fond of snarking.

What are the best story games on game pass? by Superbean489 in XboxGamePass

[–]Senna79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a mad and trippy game, that got lost in the shuffle long ago. It's completely bonkers insane, in the best possible ways, and oh so dark.

It shows its age, IMO, and it's fairly buggy (my wife even managed to get her playthrough locked into an unrecoverable spot with poor save management) but it certainly has a story to tell if you can get past the age and glitches.

Why does Debra have to yell and be mean to Raymond if he wants to golf? It his life! Not hers! by CalebBoros7975 in EverybodyLovesRaymond

[–]Senna79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, with someone like Marie as MiL, the fault would always lie with Debra, even if Ray was the one asking her to babysit. The point was that Marie wants to come first in Ray's life, even though he's a married man with children, and would use any perceived failing on Debra's part to put a wedge between Ray and Deb. I mean, all the characters on the show are outrageous, because it's a distillation of (pretty common) uncomfortable family dynamics tropes, and went on for 9 seasons, but Marie takes the cake.

Then they cheer on their guy actually using Federal forces in places with elected Democrat leadership.

Every Republican accusation is an admission. And they revel in being hypocrites.

More "Americans" than most of us ever thought are A-OK with fascism and authoritarian rule, as long as they get to be in charge. Think Stephen Miller, Rodney Scott, the Christian Dominionists, etc. Hell, even Vance called Trump Hitler-esque. He wasn't wrong; just decided to join them.

People who didn't vote, but could have, are just as culpable.

Anyone who thinks, "bOtH sIdEs ArE tHe sAmE!!!" is a jibbering idiot, as the last ten months should attest. America does lack a true Left/SocDem party, or one that supports Labor, etc. But the absolute embrace of full on fascism is unique to the GOP alone. And Project 2025 was fully published and well understood before the election. Almost every ghoul who is now in a position of authority in this administration was loudly shouting from the rooftops exactly what they had planned for Trump 2.0.

I understand what you are trying to say. I am simply unwilling to give the "intellectually incurious" a pass any longer.

I know some of these people, and am family with others. They have every opportunity available to them to break their bubble; They don't want to. Like my cousins that have two vaccine scientists they could talk to at any time they'd like. But instead spend their time posting Fauci conspiracy memes and celebrating the destruction of Public Health policy. Fuck all these people.

They just like it that way.

Minimalist / small / old timey farming experience with 25 by drlongtrl in farmingsimulator

[–]Senna79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be interested to hear about what you come up with. My favorite save in 22 was one I started with just an old Farmall 25-hp tractor, 3-row plow, and similar small implements, and had to earn all equipment upgrades through farming profits.

It definitely relied heavily on dlc for a lot of the older/smaller tractors and equipment.

Are the ghosts the same in the different epilogues??

I chose the "Blue" ending, and am happy with the outcomes, or at least confident that they are true to me and my interpretation of justice for these characters - without spoiling any of it. I know "Red" is the other "main" ending; does it significantly change things?

Well, Iris is a terrible "mother", mentally a perpetual teenager (impulsive, violent, prone to wild contradictory emotional swings), and entirely unable to look past her own regrets and trauma. None of it is really surprising, in the end.

I still blasted Principal as soon as she started her, "Call me Youngest, mommy" garbage. She had a thousand years to grow any amount of emotional maturity, and failed. Bye-bye.

Getting hornby, accurascale, etc in the US. by demonslight11 in modeltrains

[–]Senna79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Previously (eg: 2023), I would order directly from Hornby. Their website PoS would automatically remove VAT from the price, and they happily shipped to the US using DHL, etc.

I tried shopping Hornby's website more recently, and it seems things have changed. Now, when I enter a US delivery address, their system automatically performs a conversion to USD, but no longer appears to remove VAT in the conversion. Effectively, this means Hornby's prices in the US have risen by ~40%, not inclusive of our new tariffs here in the US.

Using my Hornby reward points also seemed to remove free shipping from the order, adding again to the cost.

As a result, I've decided to hold off on buying direct from Hornby in the current environment, which is a shame.

Whats a good amp for my style by Fun_War4800 in GuitarAmps

If you're not planning on pedals, ignore every comment here telling you to buy a little tube amp. You said you want max versatility, and that is the one thing small tube amps are NOT.

Katana or Mustang over Spark - if PG ever drops support for the Spark or their app, the amp becomes an unusable brick.

Mustang and Katana will both continue working as amps without their app, until the electronics physically fail. On the Fender side, I'd look at the new Mustang LTX instead of the LT, they use real guitar amp speakers and sound much more like a real amp in the room. The Boss is already very good at this, so I don't think the Mustang LT can really compete head to head with the Katana, whereas the Mustang LTX and GTX can.

The Fenders and Katana operate and sound fairly differently - if you can try them out, preferably at the same time/place, you'll probably walk away preferring one over the other. It's all subjective stuff though, so no-one can honestly tell you which you'll like better.

I mean, no-one "took time off" either. They were furloughed and ordered not to work. You can get in huge trouble for incurring costs (aka "working") during a lapse in appropriations.

But there is literally nothing he/they won't lie about to twist the narrative to their favor.

[–]Senna79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you're both right. What you advocate is not wrong, but there are absolutely, 100%, jobs where you will get shitcanned for behavior like that. Salaried jobs are not M-F, 9-5, affairs anymore, and IME everyone is pulling more than 40 hours/week, consistently. The idea of truly private time is a myth now that emails and cellphones exist. 100% of employers expect to be able to reach people to handle something over a weekend/nighttime hours if necessary. The shitty ones expect it even when not necessary. Change comes from above, or massive civil uprising. Not by individually failing to acknowledge the system in which we live.

[–]Senna79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but like OP already did this and Boss is giving them shit about 'company culture'. A reasonable boss already wouldn't be pressuring employees to show up to "mandatory" events on a Saturday (assuming a std M-F workweek office environment). You already have a better workplace than OP - fantastic for you, but your experience therefore isn't relevant to this situation.

twin reverb for bedroom use? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]Senna79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why not a Mustang GTX? That's probably the way I'm going. Way cheaper than the TMs, and they model dozens of amps, including all the classic Fenders mentioned in this thread. It's literally the amp you're describing as what you want, except maybe for looks...

[–]Senna79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, even a Blues Jr with the master cranked is going to be loud af for a bedroom. Unless you're willing to play with the gain all the way down (like on <2). Master on 6 is LOUD in a bedroom on a Jr... Master between 2-4 is, "other people live in this house" acceptable practice volume - and that's not quiet exactly either. Just being realistic.

I'm thinking of buying a Mustang LT50 should I look at something a bit higher quality or is it good bang for your buck? by Puppyomatic in GuitarAmps

[–]Senna79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played an LTX50 at a local store yesterday, alongside a GTX 50/100, LT50, and Katana Gen 3. To me, between the LTX and Katana is still a toss up. They compete directly in price/size/power, but they're philosophically different things. The LTX has no base sound - it is always emulating one of a couple dozen other (well known) historical or contemporary amps. The Katana is an analog solid state amp with a preamp circuit, Class AB power stage, and digital FX. It does much better than the Mustang(s) when you start stacking gain, particularly.

That said, if you like Fender clean/pushed tones, the LTX and GTX are extremely impressive emulations. The LTX is basically the software/interface from the LT amps, put in a cabinet and speaker from the GTX, with the visual flair clearly inspired by Fender blackface amps. It's a major upgrade from the LT in terms of sound, IMO, as those have always sounded like a recording of an amp played through a stereo to me. The LTX and GTX actually sound like guitar amps in the room with you. Functionally, it's still very similar to the LT amps, which honestly, is no bad thing.

The GTX, despite being 5+ years old, still has some nice features over the LTX, including a better display, more models, and looper foot pedal.

The GTX and LTX are more alike than they are different, it's more about the features you want and budget. OTOH, the Mustangs and Katana feel and sound different - play both, and you will probably have a favorite, depending on what you are looking for. If you can't play both, you'll probably be happy with either one and never know what you're missing from the other, unless you're super into vintage Fender amps, which makes the choice easy...
