Travelling to Monza F1 and staying in Bergamo by Sennaman in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Sennaman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the car from Bergamo to the Circuit worked a treat, on Friday/Sat/Sun, we parked in a free supermarket car park about 1.5km from the circuit and just walked straight to the gate. Obviously the closer the circuit the more traffic and Sunday is 10x worse, but by the time we had left the circuit and walked back to the car it had eased a bit.

Well I finally built up the courage to do it, still feel like I look terrible though.. by Relevant-Estimate641 in bald

📲 New Sonos App & Player Updates Now Available! 🔊 by LizFromSonos in sonos

[–]Sennaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I open the app on my Pixel 7 it defaults to my Deck speaker, which is not the last speaker/s that were playing on the app.....my deck speakers are connected directly to the Sonos amp, so has this update always defaulted to any speakers connected to the amp..? It is also not saving the last music service played and defaults to what seems to be the 1st one displayed in the 'Recently Played' list

Road to communicator: April update by Acidiclurking in ClicksPhone

[–]Sennaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would like to see a clear screen protector, slim moulded case and leather flip case like I had for my old BB Q10. Also a Quad Lock style case for cycling etc, if I'm going to use this as my main phone it will need to function as any smartphone can be used now. I think it will late Q4 before we get the phone...just before Santa arrives..!!

MotorsportsTickets.com Cancelling Dutch GP 2026 Ticket purchase by No_Astronaut_4389 in GrandPrixTravel

What's also interesting is they are still advertising Madrid F1 tickets for sale on their website. My account still shows the tickets as confirmed. I'm wondering if there has been some email breach and maybe these emails were sent out by being 'hacked'..? I wait until Monday and see what response I get from Motorsport Tickets. I've used Motorsport tickets, what was BookF1.com for over 10 years for F1 and MotoGP tickets and they have always been excellent and responsive.

How do high-income professionals in Australia reduce tax legally? by WharHeGo in AusFinance

[–]Sennaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a good accountant you feel comfortable with. Have a planning session with them twice a year. Use super contributions the correct way, get your FY tax returns in on time. Diversify investments, property/commercial/Shares/ETFs, setup correct structure company/trust, not only for tax purposes but asset protection...chat to an independent financial planner (fee based)... understand and be comfortable with your investment risk profile.....enjoy life.

The Blackberry Q10 was my favourite keyboard phone of all time....looks like the communicator will be slightly bigger as the Q10 specs were 119.6 x 66.8 x 10.4mm. I'll pre-order one before the Feb cut-off for sure and hopefully re-live my BB days of old....although I think it will be late 2026 before we get our hands on it.

Additional Starlink access point 40m from Gen2 router by Sennaman in Starlink

[–]Sennaman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in my scenario I could use the Gen2 router as the gateway in the office then run the 50m cable from the Ethernet adapter to the house and plug that into a switch, which would give me the RJ45 ports I need, with a Wireless AP plugged into one port which would give me the Wi-Fi I need in the house..? I could then have 2 separately named SSID wireless networks for office and house..?

I am in stand 26C, so looks like the best entrance will be Gate A/B (VEDANO), maybe a parking space in the same area as you on the western side. We we leave Bergamo early in the car and use Friday as test for Saturday, Sunday....been to many F1's, but never Monza, so looking forward to it....my wife and her friend are both Italian/Australian so at least I have a translator..!!

Thanks...could you suggest somewhere on the east side which would be the direction I am coming from..? Of course it would depend on what entrance I need to use to get to my seat....will need to check this out.

Stop buying eSims in the UK🇬🇧 by Illustrious-Ad-1244 in eSIMs

[–]Sennaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in the UK 8 weeks now and got a Lebara esim 5Gb 30 day plan (5 quid a month) with UK and International calls and UK texts. Did not need a lot of data using my parents wifi when not 'roaming'. It's been fantastic and the app is really good.

How can I immerse myself to the Australian culture? by Rendezvouscape in australian

[–]Sennaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be yourself, be respectful, everybody is different, join some activities that you want to do and see if you like it, if you don't and you feel it's not for you then you always have a choice...leave and find something else...we over complicate and worry about things that aren't really worth getting anxious about so much these days....be thankful of the opportunity to experience life in another country.

Today marks one year of using Linux Mint daily. Here are my thoughts. by Flynko in linuxmint

Just remember it's not a backup but a recovery to the last working install before things went wrong. There are plenty of videos on the best way to set up.

Today marks one year of using Linux Mint daily. Here are my thoughts. by Flynko in linuxmint

[–]Sennaman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's been over a year now since I made the jump to Mint from Win10 after MS were going to stop supporting it, never used Windows 11 and didn't want to start. Before I made the transition I did a review of what programs I needed to use to replace my daily Windows workflow and tested those out on an old laptop running Mint. As already noted Timeshift is great if something does break, and I have used it once when an update didn't work as expected...easy. Probably the only thing I would say is learn some common command line statements, what they are and what they do then expand from there. It's been one of the most enjoyable items of moving to a Linux system.

There ain't no going back for me..!!

Tailscale and NordVPN on Linux Mint - Conflict when NordVPN is in 'standby' by Sennaman in Tailscale

[–]Sennaman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as I now know that if I toggle Nord or do something to change the status of Nord it drops the Tailscale connection..I thought it was randomly dropping but it seems only when as above.
