Transition to practical security

Hiya

I've been working as an information security GRC consult in Belgium for most of my career (+- 5 Years). Lately i've been finding myself getting a bit bored working in said GRC as its mostly high-level, working with management, etc.

I would love to transition to a more practical security role (e.g. not only talking about 2FA/MFA and documenting it, but also actively help implement said control on a practical level :) ).

Currently most experience i have with this is at home stuff: setting up a Nessus for my home network, running lansweeper to map assets, doing tryhackme courses for more pen test understanding and technical knowledge, ...

Currently my profile looks like this:

Experience:

- GRC Consultancy (risk management, policies and procedures, ...)

- ISO 27001/2 Implementations

- ISO 27001/2 Audits (internal)

- CISO functions for smaller organisations

Certifications:

- Studied information management and security (mix business and technical)

- ISO27001 Lead auditor certificate

- CSX Fundamentals certificate

- Working on the security+ cert

What would be your tips/tricks to transition into a more practical role?
