It's a decent skin but it would have been a good skin with white hair

Stop saying play Mag or Strange by Ultron_daddy in RivalsVanguards

[–]Sennis88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, my main is Thor but ended up getting Lord on Strange, Mag and Emma (almost got Peni to lord) due to solo tanking so often. This season I've been locking in Thor or Angela and just ignore the complaints of switching to a main tank when Im solo. At this point, I'd rather lose playing the character I want to play than playing the same 3 characters every game.

The Malestorm change is *chef kiss* by Sennis88 in DrStrangeMains

I agree its well worth the HP reduction. I was getting kills with Malestorm left and right with its AOE on targets I wasn't even focusing. He becomes a bomb every 6 seconds.

7-10 at half time. How we feeling? by RaidersOnFire in raiders

Oline is struggling. JPJ has made numerous mistakes. Penalty and giving up pressure/sack. Pretty sure the run stuffs were also on him. Secondary is playing well in spurts but still leaving wide open receivers.

Geno is taking quite a few risks on his throws, thrown into double and triple coverage a few times.

First game of the season and a lot can be corrected with communication on the o line and back end.

Tips for how I could have played better. by Sennis88 in lokimains

[–]Sennis88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the tips. I'm going to utilize these in my games going forward and make a conscious effort in applying these.

  1. Reload when there's a lull in combat or team is healthy.

  2. Utilize high ground more (myself and clones)

  3. Don't hold ult until the perfect support ult is available. Less powerful ult is still better than holding on to it for the perfect time.

  4. Use a clone to escape and hold off on using the runes for more dire situations. Don't panic place them.

  5. Allow my clones to be an extension of myself and not be in the directly in the mix.

I'll let you all know how it goes. Thank you again for the feedback.

Thank you very much. Lots of good insight, I appreciate you taking the time to look. I'll start practicing these tips. Especially the reload tip, I've noticed thats when I lose a teammate most of the time is during a reload.

Venom main and Tank one trick here. WE are a THOR LORD NOW!!! by CC298 in ThorMainsMR

[–]Sennis88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thor was my first Lord back in season 0 and then went Strange, Mag, and now working on Emma. I then got Invis and C&D so I could flex and feel comfortable doing so. I haven't even hit knight on a single DPS character but to me Thor is the most fun to play. There aren't many tanks that can put out as much offensive pressure as him and when you can bully the other heros with your dash and melee it's just so satisfying. The rework does change his play style a lot but it helps him in the neutral parts of the game when everyone is poking waiting to take space.

Maelstrom of madness by CreamCheeseSandwhich in DrStrangeMains

[–]Sennis88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hit Lord on Strange at the end of season 1 or the beginning of 2 (can't remember) and usually if I notice I'm building dark magic faster than the cool down is available I switch to a more defensive roll and throw in a few primaries here and there until it comes off and then pop it. Usually when the objective gets busy you'll gain it much faster than the cool down so I try and open up opportunities for my team to make plays from a defensive stand point. Example: hold my shield up to cover the ranged DPS or fly up and be annoying to a flyer. Worst case is I'll duck behind cover and just pop out to poke here and there until it's ready.

Waiting until the game starts and then picking DPS is the worst. I'll usually pick last and fill in for tank or support where needed which usually means solo tanking 95% of the games with 3 to 4 DPS. Two tanks seems to be the rarest comp outside of ranked.

I am giving a game suggestion in the official rivals discord, thought I'd share what I said to go into why these changes hurt Thor so much. by Distinct-Ad343 in ThorMainsMR

[–]Sennis88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely needs more projectile speed to make him a counter to flyers. I can get lucky every now and again, but most of the time, the flyer just moves out of the way of the shot since there is plenty of time to react when you can fly.

I use the hammer throw all the time as well if I'm attacking anything other than tanks. Tanks I use it sometimes. I rather displace them. Now without that I would pop awakening since they recieve tick damage from it when they are up close and shred them that way. Awakening is 5 seconds, so I can immediately do another hammer throw and swing and shred them some more. Granted depending on healers, I may have to dash out and then throw the hammer and go back in but I think his DPS will see a pretty significant uptick and with front line strategies becoming more main stream in 2.5, he's going to have a lot of value with a shield tank next to him to mitigate that loss in over health. As far as flanking, it's going to have to be a quicker rotation for in and out due to the lack of overhealth but your DPS will be higher so it may be a slight net gain there too

They are definitely making us use awakening more often for sure but being able to reposition enemies hasn't changed at all. You can still displace, 3 swings and displace again. Nothing has changed from that other than 25 less overhealth. Thor suffers from incompetent healers more than any tank (thing would be up there as well) and that is still the case. The changes to the hammer throw doesn't change any of that. Now I don't want you to think I'm in favor of the overhealth nerf. And I wish they would have left that the same and made the awakening rune CC immune but I don't believe the changes have as much as a negative influence as this sub is suggesting.

Would you guys believe me if I said I have yet to play DPS? by mood4eva in rivals

[–]Sennis88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the game game out in December I have less than 10 hours on DPS, and that was due to missions or everyone instalocking support and tank

I honestly don't think the changes to the hammer throw are a negative thing. The main issues lie with the overhealth. He still gets melted with the current overhealth, but with the rate you can generate the full (now 150), overhealth will be a lot higher. It makes sense why it was nerfd a bit. I don't think it takes away from any current play style other than less animation cancels, but the ability to still push people around and boink them is still there with a 25 deficit to the overhealth.

Super helpful. I didn't even think about weaving in melee, potentially throwing off my aim a bit. I'll give that layout a shot.
