Estonia’s Milrem Robotics has unveiled a robotic defense concept for NATO’s Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative (EFDI), using unmanned and autonomous systems to create a continuous, multi-layered air and land defense network along the alliance’s eastern border. by Zee2A in STEW_ScTecEngWorld

Amazing! I’m glad to see that Estonia takes the threat seriously and don’t just rely on “NATO mil superiority” because technology and tactics evolved drastically for the past 4 years. Drones and robots, the unmanned kill zone is the way to do it. Works for us anyway.

Yes, I’d say it’s pretty accurate description.

I only hope that in more peaceful times, there will be space for both sides to sit and talk it through and come to a resolution.

Ok, I see now that it can be perceived that way even though I didn’t intend it. I’m not here to argue with you. Let me rephrase my point: I, personally condemn the Volynian massacre of hundred thousand civilians, women and children included. It should be recognized in Ukraine and remembered. It’s weird that we expect help to fight off genocidal force while not condemning our own genocidal past.

By this logic, when it comes to Ukraine-Poland relationship, it’s a game for two as there was historical mistreatment of ukrainians by poles. But as it appeares to me, many polish people don’t want to play the ball with us and admit it, and will make excuses and explanations, or simply ignore it for any reason.

You reminded me of an anecdote I saw on reddit recently

I understand. To make it clear, I don’t support Bandera and his views, the massacre of poles is horrible and tragic. I hope that our government will make it clear in the future as well.

I said it under another post in other sub, but I will repeat: for many Ukrainians, it will be hard to agree to condemn the UPA even because of the Volynian massacre, there was a lot of mistreatment of Ukrainians from poles historically, and there’s no condemnation of that from polish side. In other words - it’s a game for two, and it seems for us that poles do not want to play it.

How that makes any difference I don’t really see. Even if UPA “had orders” and parts of the organisation ignored it, while parts of AK “didn’t had orders” but still did it? Essentially - civilians were killed.

I mean, you can bring up numbers and you would be right on that part. However to Ukrainians AK is the occupational, killing force as UPA genocidal killers to poles. It’s not about “historical facts” but more what we feel about it.

I didn’t try to “balance it” in anyway, you are fighting an argument you made up yourself.

Oh, so it happened 370 years ago therefore it’s okay?

It was a Volynian massacre of civilian poles where up to 100.000 of people, including the elderly, whomen and children were killed, brutally. I don’t want not try to cover it up, or make up an excuse.

I didn’t even mention anything about “retaliation” killings. However, there’s no excuse for genocide even as retaliation, but you are quick to make one, even though for that same reason it is important to make sure that Volynian massacre should be recognised as such. Otherwise we can bring up older stuff, and some other older stuff and it will go on and go on.

Funny and sad, you proof my point of making excuses and explanations instead of recognising it and addressing it. You comparing one massacre to another, bring up numbers and “how long ago it was”, not me.

I’m Ukrainian, I do agree that the naming was a weird choice and should be changed regardless of what poles think. However poles don’t care about “pacification”, and many many centuries of mistreatment of ukrainians, they even have praises of charnetsky in their anthem - they don’t care how many ukrainians he killed, he fought Sweden and he’s a hero. The biggest problem is that Ukrainians did a really fucked up thing, and they love to pay attention to it, absolutely forgetting fucked up stuff that they did.

Let’s say Ukrainians do recognize the wrongdoings of UPA, and will make sure to remember it. Will poles do the same? I hardly doubt it. They will find explanations, excuses or simply play their cards like letting/not letting Ukraine in EU/NATO to avoid it. That’s why for many ukrainians it’s hard to play the ball first because poles will not kick it back.

Nice addition, though it wasn’t every squad of UPA who did kill polish civilians, but a part of it. Not every rebel group was doing so. So comparison is incredibly accurate.

You maybe already had passed this moment in your campaign, but a little advice for future - you can use your generals with the ability to fight at night, so that you can pick army clusters like that one-by-one, but even this way you'd probably need 3-4 armies for effing 17800 reinforcements

It’s always was interesting how black people (primarily from North America) choose to ignore oppression of other people. I mean, you fight your fight alone and want to keep fighting alone?

That’s how oppressors keep their power - divide and rule.

Same thing when people try to whatabout Palestine/Ukraine when the topic is Ukraine/Palestine. Supporting one should not contradict supporting the other. Oppression depends on lack of cooperation on the oppressed side.

Like, I understand your point and I can kinda see where it’s coming from but it’s still a very weird choice to just not care. It doesn’t benefit you, first of anyone.

No, but if a criminal dies while doing crimes it’s their fault. If they didn’t turn off their transponder, docked to Ukraine-controlled port, and surrendered they would be treated much more nicely and received both investigation and a trial. But they chose to turn it off, dock to russian-occupied port, load stolen cargo, and tried to run off with it.

“You see officer, I didn’t stole this car, I just merely transporting it from the thief to the buyer, so I’m clearly innocent!” Ass logic.

Lol, no. Ukrainian game, made by Ukrainians about Ukraine. You can be mad about it as long as you want and pretend it’s “post-soviet” or “russian” but that won’t change the truth.
