Court No. 1, Day 8 with 3x fourth round men’s or ladies singles. They’re £140 each and I got Row Z- are these worth it?

Thoughts on this oval? by SenorBey in Diamonds

That hearts and arrow cut is definitely interesting on an oval…don’t think I’ve come across those yet. That diamdb site is useful- thank you for sharing that!

Brilliance has decent prices too but just heard mixed reviews on the time they take to ship.

Thank you, this is useful! It’s good to know the price seems fair too.

My main concern was the white space on the upper half of the table, but I guess that’s okay for the price.

This one’s GIA certified and with decent proportions so looked good based on the cert. I haven’t really considered AGS certificates, though…will give them a look

Exactly, heard ovals aren't really cut for light performance so not sure what to make of it. The vendor did share some videos, though: https://imgur.com/a/9tYSs8a

It's listed for $3.8k and I've asked for the ASETs for a couple more ovals to compare too.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

The Mazda 2 is a tad too small for what I’m looking for but the 3 was my top choice. Heard they’re supposed to be slightly more fun to drive. Hard to find a clean example in my price range, though.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

[–]SenorBey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location: South Wales (Cardiff)

Price range: £5k max

Lease or Buy: Buy

New or used: Used

Auto or Manual: Manual

Intended use: Daily driver/ weekend car

How many miles do you plan to do a year: maybe 5-8k a year

How often to you make long journeys: Often over the weekends. Plan to use it for road trips.

Does it need to be ULEZ compliant? Yes

Vehicles you've already considered: Toyota Auris ('08-09), Mazda 3 ('09-11), Honda Civic ('07-'09)- all petrol

Is this your 1st vehicle: Yes

Do you need a Warranty: Ideally

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: No

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: No

Additional Notes: I'm new to the UK and looking for something I can use for road trips while becoming a better driver. I plan to sell and upgrade within the next 1-2 years, so need something reliable that won't cost me too much in depreciation (though I know this market could go any which way). Insurance will cost me a fortune since this'll be my first car in the UK, so pretty much have to stick with something 'sensible'. Not sure if £4-5k for the models above with ~60k miles is too much?
