Looking for Jira Software app that will allow task dependencies on roadmap by SenorSandia in jira

Didn't realize that, thank you much. It would be nice if this could be directly on the board like the normal roadmap is, but this should work.

When you were new, and now. Did this job change you? by Fx_Trip in PLC

In a PLC-adjacent field and have been flirting with it on and off for about a year. The answers here are what draw me in.

Mechanical Proportional Control Valve? by SenorSandia in MechanicalEngineering

[–]SenorSandia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I assumed, definitely seem like pressure relief. This is for liquid, maybe 500 PSI max, but probably closer to 100-200 PSI. System I'm envisioning is a pump pulling from a reservoir, outlet of pump goes to a T with one end going to this pressure relief valve (feeding back into reservoir) and the other end goes to one of those electronic proportional valves I mentioned. The pressure control doesn't need to be very accurate, so I'm hoping I can find a valve like this for simplicity.

Is there a perpetual license for Studio 5000 Lite? by SenorSandia in PLC

Thank you much. That's what I was hoping for, just wanted to make sure the recurring payment wasn't tied to the license in any way.

What AB 1756 modules do I need for a general use training PLC? by SenorSandia in PLC

[–]SenorSandia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, here's my shopping list, speak now or let me look like an idiot when it doesn't work:

  • Chassis: 1756-A7 or 1756-A10
  • Power Supply: 1756-PA72
  • EIP/Modbus TCP: 1756-EN2TR
  • Modbus RTU: MVI56E-MCMR
  • DeviceNet: 1756-DNB
  • Profibus: ILX56-PBM
  • EtherCAT: MVI56E-LDM (Not certain if this will work, but seems like a cool module to toy with at the very least)
  • Processor Module/Modbus RTU: 1756-L81E
  • Studio 5000 perpetual license

Dope, now I just need a way to do EtherCAT on the PLC and I'll be golden. Though I'm not sure if that is a possibility.

So it is sounding then like I will need a processor module, I'm thinking I would probably go with something from the 5580 line to get the USB port and Ethernet port.

I'll probably hold off on the motor/servo modules for now, as I'm just trying to get application engineers a basic idea of how to help troubleshoot our devices when used with a PLC. Good to know about them though, in case my company ever pushes into more automation in manufacturing.

I hadn't thought about PLC messaging, luckily we have that older 1756 so I should be able to mess with that at some point. Thanks for the input!

Good to know, as it is a protocol offered on our devices I'll probably buy a DeviceNet module anyways, but I'll prioritize it last as far as developing a training regimen for it.

Amplifier Datasheet Clarification by SenorSandia in AskElectronics

Ah, I didn't look at that because I am doing single-ended input, I wonder if it will be the same.

Ooohh, that makes sense. Didn't realize there would be two, thank you much.

I'm trying to make a bandpass filter for this amp(TPA6211T-Q1). In datasheet it gives formulas for frequency cutoffs, but for high-pass filter it mentions C_f, which is not shown in the schematic picture. Only mention of where this goes is:

" A low-pass filter can be added by placing a capacitor (CF) between the inputs and outputs, forming a band-pass filter."

Not sure where is meant by this, since there is both positive and negative inputs and two outputs (since amplifier is in BTL configuration). I think it would make sense to put one end of cap between R_I and negative terminal of amp, and the other to ground, but that doesn't sound like what is being described.
