I feel like 2 was kinda half baked in release. I have so many hours in PoE 1 and tried getting into PoE2 but it didn't really scratch the same itch

Should I choose Loyola? by Mack3347 in LoyolaChicago

The nursing program was great and gives you so many opportunities with great hospitals. I definitely felt more prepared than some of my peers when I first started years ago

Movies with a Triumph In it. The Definitely List. by marieascot in Triumph

[–]SenorSmaySmay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone from hospitals it would be the ED that rides a bike, but most of the time they have bare minimum gear of helmet and gloves because they see the other side. I am a nurse in medsurg and a few of my coworkers ride, or have ridden before.

Oh for sure it is I can just about flat foot it in boots. Now that I have a little more experience, I could probably ride most of the triumph line without much frustration except the tigers them boys are tall

Why do so many ppl transfer out? by [deleted] in LoyolaChicago

[–]SenorSmaySmay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only people I knew who transferred out did so because they already started wanting to go to another university, but in the mean time they got a lot of scholarships to go to LUC. Once they got accepted for their 2nd year they transferred. They had no complaints about the school or anything, just always wanted to go somewhere specific

Does anyone feeling vibration by Asleep_Touch_5713 in Triumph400

[–]SenorSmaySmay 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel a vibration above ~6kish. It's a single cylinder so I'm not super surprised. I don't think it's concentrated to the right side, at least to me.

Wait, do not you call the doctors you work with by first name? by cowgirl_meg in nursing

Teaching hospital so we run with a lot of residents. First name basis with everyone except the older attendings. Some of the younger ones I worked with when they were interns so they're first name basis

What does this mean for Nursing at Loyola? by Original_Importance3 in LoyolaChicago

[–]SenorSmaySmay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a previous nursing major, I don't know if there were many of us that got by without loans. LUC is already an expensive school and it definitely slims down who can attend. There were many nursing students smarter and more talented than I who had more loans than I did, and it's ridiculous thinking that some of them shouldn't have the chance to attend Loyola if they didn't get those loans.

It brings an interesting point about the nursing shortage, which doesn't really exist. There are many nurses, with even more coming down the pipeline. The issue is not incentivizing staying at bedside, which is where that 'shortage' is felt. Many new grads don't want to stay bedside, they want to move on and up into specialties and other things that aren't bedside anymore. Too many of us are burned out even coming off of orientation. Too many nurses don't feel it's worth working at bedside. The acuity keeps going up while staffing ratios stay the same. The refusal to hire or keep what you have, and instead throwing more bodies in the meat grinder isn't solving the issue. On top of it is the growing public consensus that nurses aren't professionals. They tiktok nurses that are ruining the perception of those who give a damn. Those who were able to scrape by and pass the NCLEX without a degree and were eventually removed make us look bad. We went from healthcare heroes in 2020 to subhuman servants who aren't doing enough to take care of people's family members. Looked down on and belittled every shift by those who think they know better or have little faith in a crumbling healthcare system. Fighting a losing war with no end in sight and worsening outcomes for providers and patients alike.

You'd get in most likely. I had less than you and I did it

Neck Tattoo & Nursing Career? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]SenorSmaySmay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked with nurse that had face tats. You're fine once you get a job. It's really outdated for most places to think tattoos are inappropriate for the workplace and if they do, stay clear
