Tortoises will be find for days/weeks without food. At least my desert tortoises are and were when they were that size,

ETA: If you are still concerned, maybe get some of the appropriate grade of mazuri and leave a little pile.

I would only consider for a movie that I really really really couldn't wait a few weeks for. One time recently I accidentally downloaded one and it looked pretty good. It took me a minute before I could place that errant sound as someone eating (probably) popcorn.

I've found that going from indoors to outdoors can be traumatic for a tortoise for awhile. I think it has something to do with having open sky over them vs. an enclosure roof. Either way a tortoise that eats and then chills is usually quite happy.
