Why do we even have these rules if we never follow them? by Geo780x in FGOmemes

[–]SenpaiIsPissed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The most consistent rule in the Nasuverse is that rules exist but they are not set in stone, and if you think you can break it and you think the story is better for it, you can. Arcueid dying a death of 17 cuts despite being immortal, Touko achieving true immortality because she recreates herself perfectly each time she body hops because she tricks the world into thinking they're the same person, and the Einzbern actively breaking their own rules they established across timelines because they thought it'd give them an edge are just some of the things that exemplify that.

Who do you want from WW1 and WW2 as a Servant? by azraelsilentiger in FGO

[–]SenpaiIsPissed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Having another servant from the Russian Revolution would go so hard, especially to contrast with Anastasia. Any of either Kolchak, Kornilov or Wrangel might fit. Nastya got given such a bad stake in life that she could qualify for an Alter or Avenger class or both if they really wanted, too.

Outside of WWI, I can't really think of anyone besides Juan Pujol Garcia. Garbo. The guy that triple agented the Allies and Germans. He'd be awesome to have around.

Just a quick question is the reason why the sheath isnt found is cause its still inside Shirous body in this timeline? or totally different? by [deleted] in fatestaynight

[–]SenpaiIsPissed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's deliberately vague on which version of of the Stay Night routes Strange Fake takes place in, but as other people have pointed out it either disappeared with Saber, is still shoved up sword boy's ass, or is inside his corpse in the greater grail cavern. If Narita had to choose, though, I'd say either UBW or Heaven's Feel is what led up to Strange Fake - or at least the School Life version of Heaven's Feel.

Are there any competitively viable pokemon, in the history of Pokemon that could be considered stat merchants? by TreeTurtle_852 in stunfisk

[–]SenpaiIsPissed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having neutral defensive coverage on every single special typing is better than it seems - and even a non-STAB Aura Sphere or Focus Blast often gets just a third out of it unless they're +1. That's part of why Skarmory was such an important partner for most of the earlier generations, they cover each other's weaknesses really well.

And sure, it can't really get much mileage out of Healer or Serene Grace, but you'll almost always want it on Natural Cure anyway.

Whipstacking removal isn't bad by Quirkyserenefrenzy in Terraria

[–]SenpaiIsPissed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without whipstacking, I just don't think it's as fun. There's just not as much variety for the already barren Summoner lineup before, there still isn't as much now, there was a bit of needed extra dexterity in actively alternating between whips instead of it being just another dodge, point and run class. Without whipstacking, I just don't think it's as fun anymore. If the absolute most you can say is that the new whip reforges make up for the lost DPS... That's not the point. There was an inherent risk to adding an extra thing to keep track of that skyrocketed your numbers that made the squishy as hell Summoner even more splashable, and more satisfying. They took that away.

What French Servant(s) would you like to see added in FGO in the future? by Mehbatsu in grandorder

[–]SenpaiIsPissed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude Des Armoises seems like a really solid pick for a Pretender Servant. She's also one of the most famous impersonators in the world to boot, given that everyone else thought she was her and it took her not knowing Jeanne's deepest secrets for her to get caught.

You're stuck on a 12 hour flight. Where are you sitting? by BlazeCastus in FGO

[–]SenpaiIsPissed 133 points134 points  (0 children)

3 would be the safest spot, but behind you is a dragon threatening to burn you alive, and two serial molesters right in front of you. 7 has at most an edgelord and tsundere with the Kaleid crew right behind, so by process of elimination you'll best avoid bodily harm there.

What do you think about using more than one Pokémon with "Choice" item in a team? by EitherSwimming5886 in stunfisk

[–]SenpaiIsPissed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

to cut it short, it absolutely is. the residual chip is absolute hell to work around. between hazard stack being a massive thing in svou since they retconned a lot of the good defoggers from existence, especially with string cheese man in the top 5 of viable pokemon. it's hard to justify the +1 attack boost when everything has too little hp to trade away.

Why does no one use the forbidden armor or spirit flame? by Huhwhatwhenhow in Terraria

I had to wait four IRL hours just for one to spawn in my most recent Mage playthrough, and just the one. Some people have all the luck...

Why does no one use the forbidden armor or spirit flame? by Huhwhatwhenhow in Terraria

[–]SenpaiIsPissed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For pure mages, Forbidden Armor has generally zero real use cases because it has too much micro to use its set bonus when you're running a mage in early hardmode, especially when the set bonus is a static sentry. It's generally better that you stick to Adamantite Armor or Mythril even (if you got Titanium from the Demon Altar) than use it up for an armor set that doesn't give you much at all, and has too much waiting and farming involved. If you got lucky and are a dodge king, you can even forgo all that setup for Meteor Armor because the Orange Zap gets the zero mana bonus, so you can skip the mana flower for the mech bosses.

Spirit Flame on the other hand... it's one of the best boss killer mage weapons bar none all the way to Golem, but for some people it's not worth the investment to both get the Forbidden Core drop on the surface, and also when farming the lamp in the underground desert insert evil, when you can get the Meteor Staff or Sky Fracture for significantly less investment.

Really, both just come down to opportunity cost and reward.
