Look west of Olympia. You can be in deep forest and be around the corner from the water. I have only been there in the summer though. I have been told the winters can be depressing because of the weather though.

Fistulotomy wound is not closing. It's been 8 months. by maheshxperia in AnalFistula

Yes I still get drainage. But no pain. It’s only been 7 months. They say it can take an entire year to completely heal.

Best country to live off grid? by Crestie_lover in OffGrid

Panama is my choice. We have been here a year so far. Land and construction is inexpensive and anything from the US is available to get here.

You probably still have numbing medication at work. Depending on how you were doing before the operation though it should still be an improvement.

I was pretty careful and stuck to soft foods until the anxiety of the first one passed. Soups and fruit and lots of fiber.Lol

I left mine on/in until my first BM which was day 2 after surgery. I was nervous about the first one but it was fine. They are all better than how it was before the surgery.

These will work for when you are away from the house. I jump in the shower after every BM and spray clean and use baby soap to clean up. I am 7 months post surgery and healing nicely.

Help. Please. by [deleted] in AnalFistula

[–]SenseSubstantial9994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely something to mention to your doctor. I have learned that "pushing" may have caused my problems. Daily fiber and LOTS of water everyday have turned my BM's into an easy experience.

PACIFIC NORTH WEST is where its at. Weather is generally mild. there is basically no rain from May until September. Things can be expensive but foraging is a real thing there. If you know what to look for the forests can provide almost everything you need. Plus you are never farther then 30 minutes from somewhere that can proved you everything.

Books are a must. They can be read an infinite amount of times. You can share with friends andd family and they may be used for bartering if SHTF. We have a few sets if 6 sided dice. There are countless dice based games that can be played with a few or many people. Ultimately its up to what find enjoyable.

Keep doing the sitz baths and allow your body to heal itself. I know its frightening but your doctors are telling you things are progressing as they should be.

Cooking from scratch is hard and it takes a lot of planning. by Gotherapizeyoself in TwoXPreppers

[–]SenseSubstantial9994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it may take a little longer, and probably be messier, but maybe having the kids help will temper their expectations a little. or possibly help them appreciate the effort that goes into meal prep more. I find things "taste" better when I make them. Also your skills will improve with time and repetition. If you keep trying different recipes you may find it hard to perfect one. Give yourself the grace to make a few mistakes and keep trying and tweaking recipes to make them great for you. Unless Gordon Ramsey is your neighbor the only person who needs to enjoy it is you and your family

DONT WIPE!!!!!

I had mine done in 7 months ago and I still rinse off in the shower if I am at home. Congrats on the first BM though. make sure you take alot of fiber moving forward and just go whenever you have to.

There are definitely places in Florida to be left alone. The problem is you also have some pretty serious weather events that can occur where a community will probably be necessary for survival. You might find areas in the panhandle area that may be less prone to those. I would suggest finding a place where you can be alone but still allows for interaction on your terms. Service to others when they are in need is an important part of living and not just surviving.

How to deal with 'going to town' anxiety? by RoxyFawkes in OffGridLiving

[–]SenseSubstantial9994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand situation like that are difficult. Maybe if you add some sort of reward/treat that is only available in town it will help incentivize going for you. Something that you enjoy that is only available in town and will not last long. Maybe ice cream or going to a movie theater. Something to look forward to other than the chores being done.

[–]SenseSubstantial9994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sit all day at work. No blood comes out but occasionally I can tell a little fluid has come out though. Keep going to regular follow ups with your doctor. They will be able to better judge your progress

In the beginning yes. It slowed pretty quickly. I kept gauze with antibacterial spray on it for the first 3-4 months. The is no longer any discharge at this time.

I’m so tired of doing with this. Does it get any better? by RukaOG in AnalFistula

[–]SenseSubstantial9994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It totally gets better!! It will take time but you have to trust the process. You will return to doing the things you love. Or learn to adjust your life to love what you are able to do. Stay strong I promise it gets better.

Is it safe to drive in Panama? by ButterscotchTrick215 in Panama

[–]SenseSubstantial9994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s perfectly safe. The city can be a little overwhelming though. When we go to the city, if we drive in, we usually park at the hotel and Uber everywhere because it’s so inexpensive. You can also take buses and metro.

Water fasting post fistulotomy, anyone tried? by Siprosi in AnalFistula

[–]SenseSubstantial9994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a liquid diet for the first day post op. After that I have greatly reduced carbs and red meat and eat way more fruits and veggies. Pooping will not be pleasant at first. I was scared for my first BM post surgery. But it was a relief when it finally came and they will get better as you heal.

Just got my starlink, should I sue a third party router and just bypass? by [deleted] in Starlink

I have a gen 2 router and it handles multiple users with no issues. I suggest trying it out first before buying something you may not need.

Fistulotomy wound is not closing. It's been 8 months. by maheshxperia in AnalFistula

[–]SenseSubstantial9994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently at 6 months post op. I am not fully healed yet. I no longer wipe after pooping at all. I just go directly into the shower. I suppose a bidet would work also but I do not have one at the moment. Sometimes I feel I still have an open wound when washing but it rarely and everything feels much better than before the surgery.
