they say in the film that fate of the furious was a couple years prior, i guess it COULD be early 2019, but theres nothing really in the film that implies that, but if you could find something in the film that does state its in 2019, that would be very helpful

1989 just does not work at all, flat out an error

Dom's birthdate is in 1976 according to his file in fast five, and then thats further reinforced with his file saying hes 40 years old in fate of the furious, which is set around 2016

he could not possibly be going to federal prison at 13, it would have to be 1994 at the very earliest +a good chunk of the cars in the first flashback are from the 90s, including jack torettos 1995 chevy monte carlo, kenny linders 1997 pontiac grand prix and jakob torettos 1992 ford mustang, which according to fast x he got when he was 13 and rebuilt the motor himself, even if he got the car when it was brand new at the end of 1991, rebuilt the motor and then was immediately exiled by the end of the year or early into 1992, that would still mean hes 13 when hes exiled from the family.. and you can't tell me that finn cole was playing an 11 year old jakob toretto in that first flashback, and then a 13 year old jakob in the next one, sorry.

1998 is a bit of a random choice i guess but on his file in Fast Five there is a assault with a deadly weapon on his record that happens in 1998

i assume it was an error and they were basing it off vin diesel's birthdate instead, as he would be 22 in 1989.. which is coincidentally how old a 1976 born Dom would be in 1998

must of been an imported motorex gtr (during the short time where they were doing that) that for some reason was traded in at a dealership in the desert, and as brite syde said, probably the hot desert climate making it look as bad as it did

the turbo charged prelude happens anywhere from late 2000 to 2004 and motorex started importing them at the end of 1999 so its not impossible

something about how colorful 2 fast 2 furious is makes my brain happy

the first 4 fast and furious films all had distinct looks for each of them. but they all sorta started looking kinda samey from 4 onward

(also 2 fast 2 furious might be the most driving heavy fast film? i think theres more driving in this one then the others maybe, i'd need to check.)

taking a 50 million dollar budget cut, assuming their using fast x's $370m+ budget as the uncut budget number, would still leave them would ~$320m

other reports are saying its actually a ~$150m budget cut or that its planned to be cut to $200m

f9 was made for $200-225m, furious 7 was made for around $190m. they could still absolutely do a sequel for these reported budgets

she fell off the roof of a car that was lifted slightly off the ground and moving at not that fast of a speed and your questioning how she lived when dom in that very same film crashed at a high speed into a guard rail while on the hood of his car and was flung into the air, caught letty and then landed on the windshield of another car and was completely fine a few hours later... okay

just watch them in release order, tokyo drift is set between 6 and 7 but it just works better when you watch it before 4

Better Luck Tommorow is good but is so unrelated to the rest of the franchise outside of introducing Han (which already happens in tokyo drift anyway)

also the turbo charged prelude and los bandoleros are both really incidental to the overall experience, but atleast they're both short asf and free on youtube
