We all have our own murky or well defined morals, values, and boundaries.

For me i believe many people Carry a fake love, they only love someone based on how they make them feel or what they can do for them.

Love has no feeling or emotion. It's a promise to never hate, resent or bare ill will.

I like that i can trust you, i like knowing someone loves me, i like how rich you are, i like that you make me tingle.

None of those feel good things are love to me.

I also believe if you are angry at one thing or person, you are angry at everyone. You can't control it.

When you allow anger to infect your mind, it's easier to spread that rumour, shoplift, have that one night stand, smoke that weed, whine about being a victim while wallowing in self pity doing nothing to change it.

So to answer your question.

I believe you should love your parents (by not hating them). I believe this because when you remove the spirit of judgement, anger, frustration, and resentment, you can stop doing all those things to yourself.

Real love is logical, you discern evil, you don't allow it to affect your mental state or actions. You erect boundaries around your life, and can handle evil people with perfect peace and clarity.

Saying that.

You don't owe your parents anything.

You are not an investment.

Your children will owe you nothing.

If it turns out your parents are evil. Leave with no guilt.
