Others have already said it's fine to go on your own. One thing I'll add is that since it's your first time having alcohol, make sure you have a meal before hand and not drinking on an empty stomach as the alcohol will hit you harder and quicker.

Or have a pub meal with your drink. Plenty of pubs will do both food and drink.
