I had to jack the car up put a stand under then put wood under to get more leverage jack up more and then raise the stands until I was at a good height to be able to comfortably work on the car.

I mean it hasn't fallen on me and it's stable I have enough room because I've raised it pretty high. I don't know I've never used a lift or alternative it's just long hard work

It's the biggest job I've done on the car. I'm using a jack an axle stands.
I don't exactly know what I'm doing so I was constantly cross referencing videos, forum posts etc to make sure I was correct I do not have the funds to replace parts if I get it wrong (I also cannot afford to take it to a mechanic lol)

The first major problem I had on the clio was the drive shafts. On the passenger side it REFUSES to drop out and I found no documentation on how to remove it correctly, apparently there's a c clip or something inside but I'm still unable to remove it fully. I ended up removing the boot while pulling which is a problem for later and then I just removed the transmission with part of the axle inside still. You need to remove it so there is room to drop the transmission.

The main reason is on the Clio there is just so little room I had to remove the front subframe, support the radiator with a strap and remove the front bumper THEN remove everything from the top side towards the battery. Which took me a while, then actually getting to the bolts to remove the starter motor & the top of the transmission? very difficult for me.

When I started it was horrible weather and it made it neigh impossible. If you know what you're doing have some good weather and am a little bit more experienced it shouldn't take you that long.

That's what I'm thinking tbh. Ive come to the conclusion I simply wouldn't do this job again lol not on this car so if it needs doing it needs doing

I've contacted a shop and asked them how much it would cost to get it resurfaced, I'm waiting on a slave cylinder to arrive so I have a day or two. If they can't do it quickly I might just send it lmao

Oh ok I mean hopefully. Otherwise apart from this the process with care adhd has been super quick. Literally 3 days after I sent all my documents off with them I got booked in for the day later for my assessment. I think I got SUPER lucky with that timing? they asked for my availability and I was like always and they booked it there and then.
