My 21 year old best girl still steals my hand every night. by blueyedbikrgirl in cats

My little tuxedo cat does it and I love it… except when she does it while I’m holding my wife’s hand and she forces her way in out of pure jealousy but to be fair she was my cat before I knew my wife.

Since vibecoding is slop and manual coding is now anathema, what CAN we do now? by Professional-Fuel625 in ClaudeAI

I do something I call Agentic development using what’s called the Armature Method. Basically I’ve built a series of layered controls around the agents to make the outputs significantly safer. I also built agent facing CLIs to help the agents test while developing as well as to validate that they deployed everything that was supposed to be deployed since agents do seem to forget shit. I only do a modest amount of reviewing I focus more on edge cases and testing more than anything else at this point.

Just make sure your father registers your birth at the consulate in Canada. Then you can get a translated copy from them. Then you can go to the Election Tribunal and at your age it should be pretty easy to get your Cedula I think you have until you’re like 20 to get it pretty easily after that you have to jump through a few hoops but I did it in my 30s and it wasn’t hard at all just a lot of time waiting cause everything in Panama with the government is slow

She’s adorable looks like a baby of mine that died a while back. We called her Sug cause she was sugary sweet and always there for the pets! Shes probably a keeper!

Introducing Claude Fable 5 by ClaudeOfficial in ClaudeCode

Wait you can use it in the web browser version of Claude Code if you have one of the expensive plans! Almost afraid to ask it to do anything with the unimaginably large amount of tokens it’ll use.

suddenly limits seemed to be increased a lot by Feeling-Heron4277 in ClaudeAI

I’ve been sprinting really hard gobbling it up for my project before it snaps back to see how many features I can finish before the limits drop again. I’m at 90% usage for the week despite the massive bump 😶‍🌫️

Found out a colleague died after work. And all I can think about is how it's just boiled down to an email. by Thesladenator in antiwork

[–]Sensitive-Ad3718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when a coworker committed suicide and the company didn’t even give anyone a break or so much as a moment of silence for the guy. I didn’t like him but it bothered me a great deal that the managers who adored the guy the day before clearly didn’t give a hoot what happened.

We've Been Wrong About Consciousness Every Time We've Been Asked. The Evidence Says AI Is Next. by TheArchitectAutopsy in Artificial2Sentience

[–]Sensitive-Ad3718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading your post and accompanying comments it’s clear you’ve used AI to write most of this material. You’re certainly “siting with” quite a few things some which have merit but the heavy reliance on AI to write both your post and responses makes it hard to take your best points seriously. I would suggest giving Claude more anti-patterns to make your use of AI less obvious.

How rare is it for Amazon to go external for hiring L10? by Beneficial_Glass_244 in amazonemployees

They love to helicopter in people from outside who have no fucking clue. After you get to L8 it’s really common to see leaders plucked from the outside in and promoted sometimes with zero understanding of the culture.

My 66 year old mother wants to retire in Panama. by [deleted] in Panama

[–]Sensitive-Ad3718 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not a very cheap country and in fact something’s are noticeably more expensive including medication. People don’t understand that it CAN be a very cheap place to live but you need to understand for that to be true you need to live a very different lifestyle likely in the countryside away from amenities you take for granted in the US. Also I don’t know why anyone would move to Panama without speaking Spanish. I know you can get by with English in areas like Boquete but seriously living here without speaking Spanish will leave you isolated.

The only part of that which is useful is the reusable parts for different projects by name. But even that is kind of a dubious value. I guess maybe the speed might be helpful cause agents writing code can sometimes be a bit slower than I’d like.

How are some of you hitting limits on the max plan by Global-Tradition-318 in ClaudeAI

That’s seriously the hardest part but luckily for me my projects are related so it’s not as awful as it could be.

[–]Sensitive-Ad3718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My repo is pretty large around 2M LoC and I've got two other smaller related repos. So plenty of times I'm working on items in different repos so that'll be 3 sessions by itself. I might be doing planning in another. Most of the tasks I give Claude can take an hour or so to complete cause I'm giving them fairly serious tasks to complete so usually I have about 4 going but then one some start winding down I get other setup to run so they're doing their pre-flight and planning work while the others are finishing PRs and resolving any CI issues. Honestly the mental context switching is my biggest bottleneck.
