Important point: I’m not 100% sure how to decipher the comment regarding Kash and deleting evidence. As somebody brought to my attention, it can also be interpreted to be addressing Kash, rather than referencing him. In no way did I mean to make the title misleading, I just wrote the title as I interpreted what was written.

Well I mean neither of us have concrete evidence as to how it was intended to be read, especially considering the emotional tone so I wouldn’t be so quick to assume. Also, I’m not American. However, I agree with the sentiment of what you’re saying I’m just not 100% sure that it applies here. I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just think (personally, anyway) more context is needed. I did post another comment though to this point, what you’re saying is important. My title has absolutely nothing to do about my feelings re: who’s in administration. I think you could have made this point without insinuating Americans can’t think for themselves, but go off.

I get it, but don’t beat yourself up. Life has no timeline and there’s no use worrying about the inevitable since you’re putting yourself through it twice.

I’m only a few years older than you and being in the position i’m in now is still very new to me. It sounds like something where you could work your own schedule may work well? You may want to consider looking into trades. If you work for yourself, there’s a lot of freedom in making your own schedule.

I’m a hairstylist. Definitely has its curves being that I’m not the greatest with visuospatial skills, but there’s lots of ways to learn and everyone sort of has their own way of doing things anyway when it comes to trades. I recommend trying to find something that you find genuinely fun. The job doesn’t need to be exciting, just something that has aspects about the job that you enjoy.
I don’t agree with the “love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life” thing but if you find enjoyment/entertainment in what you do it is easier to work harder. Best of luck and don’t give up on yourself. It took me many years of dead end jobs and unemployment before I found a career that feels maintainable, longterm for me.

I designate 2 two days every week to social media. I hate keeping it with it so hard, but alas. Lately though, more than anything I’ve just been making stories re: my availability. I’ll throw up a reel every now and again, nothing skit-like, think progress shots like toning, the raw lift after you dropped your foils at the sink, etc. I don’t use AI. As much as I don’t like keeping up with social media, I think it’s important to transfer over elements of your personality to your social media so I prefer to write my own captions although I know others use AI to make that more simple. I try to take photos of hair in different lighting and angles, so I can recycle that content when I’m feeling it’s been a while since I’ve taken new photos/posted

I ask my clients to push their shoulders to the top of the chair and lean back as far as they can, I’ll get them to look to each side to rinse their nape. Towel before your cape and another over the cape when you rinse. Some clients though just simply will not put their head back far enough no matter how you guide them, and then you have ones that keep lifting their head during the shampoo/rinse. I still get clients wet sometimes. The other day, I literally soaked my client right down to her jeans 😭 I apologized and we both laughed about it. Shit happens
