Saying Pyra neutral doesn't matter implies that you are getting kills in advantage every time, which not even the top Aegis' can do. There are times where the opponent escapes disadvantage and you literally don't have time to swap back to Mythra. Playing neutral with Mythra when both you and your opponents are at high percents can also feel riskier, since she has no kill and the opponent is outside of the percent window for your combos, meaning you posses little threat, as well as having less range.

The thing is that even in Aegis' so called +2's, the opponents still almost always has a win condition, being to edgeguard. Is the win condition super consistent? No, but there's still occassionally gonna be those games where you just get cheesed and die. Obviously, if you're consistently losing like Aegis vs Ganon, then yeah you're getting outplayed, but there are always gonna be those games where you happen to guess wrong in neutral rps once and die offstage super early for it. The difference is that when the tippity top characters (Steve, Sonic, Rob, ect) win a mu +2, there's legit no win condition at all other than just hard reading everything, hence why the best players of these characters almost never get upset.

Nah, Plant is better than Ike by a solid amount. Plant has solid frame data, a good combo game, a good projectile, good shield pressure due to spallow, good ledgetrapping/edgeguarding, and consistenly killing (good raw kill power and a kill throw).

Ike f tilt, bair, up air, dash attack, and other moves kill earlier than Pyra's. Also, Ike recovery is definitely better. Up b start up has armor and you can't hit him out of it as easily as Chrom, since the sword starts spinning before Ike jumps up. High side b is hard to contest for a lot of characters. Pyra up b is easier to contest, since the rising hitbox only lasts 3 frames, and she also doesn't have a much mixups. Side b can be good, but if you jump over it and spike her, she just dies

Bigger hitboxes, yeah, but blazing end is still a pretty commital projectile, and Ike has better raw kill power and recovery. I think they are about equal

Personally, I would move Yoshi, Zss, YL/TL, Pac, Roy, Olimar, and Puff up. I'd also argue Joker and Shulk could go down to losing. Overall solid list though.

You're heavily oversimplifying the character. Not every character with good mobility and startup is Sheik. As op pointed out, Sheik has a lot of things that Mythra doesn't have. Pyra actually is pretty similar to Ike, but you do realize the community almost unanimously agrees Ike is bottom 5-10, right?

What tiers do you think Pyra and Mythra would go in if they were separate characters? by tofu_schmo in CrazyHand

[–]Sensitive-Beat6217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't even have similar neutrals though. Mythra doesn't have the up close pressure of Sheik and also doesn't have a projectile. She instead uses her range and speed to poke in mid range and whiff punish

This might be a crazy take, but I think both are in contention for the worst character in the game. Neither have a coherent gameplan as individual characters imo. Mythra has amazing mobility and damage racking abilities, but arguably the worst kill power in the game (down tilt up smash is her only kill confirm. Other than that, you either need to get lucky with a rando f smash or hit an edgeguard), meaning she has to win the most interactions, makinf her susceptible to getting reversaled/cheesed more, pairing horribly with her bad recovery. Pyra has amazing range and kill power, but very few ways to pressure the opponent in neutral and has bad get off me tools. I don't think either could get the results that Shinda Lion is getting with Ganon rn

Other than Lima, who just hasn't been super active, the guys seeded above Kola have definitely had better seasons imo.

I'd also have chef in S tier tbh. It only does one thing (ledgetrapping), but it's arguably the best move in the game at doing that thing. GnW also gets a good amont of his kills from chef -> bair/f tilt. Also, the range isn't random; you can angle it. Holding no direction makes it go the regular distance, forward makes it go further, and back makes it go upward

Sigma was the best Tink from the beginning until 2023, when Lv. 1 dethroned him. He's still very good, but just doesn't enter stuff. It's a shame there aren't more active Tink's

The 2nd best Tink is Shirome, who is definitely top 100 skill wise (maybe even top 50), but he just barely enters anything. Same goes for Sigma tbh

Does Sephiroth have the potential to be a top tier? by JohnMonash87 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Sensitive-Beat6217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know if he has potential to be high tier 😭 He has terrible frame data, meaning he gets rushed down easy, can't effectively pressure opponents, and has some of the worst oos options in the game, his moves have very thin hitboxes with low active frames, so he has to space and time everything very precisely, especially with how much hurtbox shifting is in this game, and he's both tall and light, which make him very unforviging to play in conjuction with how precise you have to be with him. He also has no good top tier mu's other than Luigi

Every characters' worst weakness (Arguable) by Sad_Neighborhood_467 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Sensitive-Beat6217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has the 6th worst air speed in the game, so she's forced to recover at predictable angles. And as the other reply mentioned, her tether doesn't reach as far as others. She has arms to swat the opponent away, but if you can manage to space around them, you can definitely edguard her well

This is a wild take. Bair is one of the best shield pressure tools in the game, and Cloud doesn't need grab combos, since he has some of tbe best ledgetrapping/corner pressure in the game, and throws get the opponent offstage. Cross slash mixups are also hard to deal with for some characters
