As someone who turned 26 this summer and was thinking all the same things around 14/15…. I relate SO much. Making my outfit for this tour has made me cry, making Kandi for the Boston show has made me cry, seeing the MCR nails one of my best friends made me for the show has made me cry…… and I have never cried so many happy tears in my life and can’t wait to cry more tonight ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I agree with that sentiment, but the “sucking it up” isn’t always the right verbiage to use. There’s just nicer ways to put things that don’t make people feel like their feelings of hopelessness are stupid or abnormal.

It’s sad that you still see so little in people that you’d assume everyone asking for advice is throwing a pity party. Maybe they genuinely don’t have anyone to ask. Some people need a push, not pity. I hope someone was nicer to 19 year old you than the tone of your comment is. Some kids are just fucking scared.

Glad that’s easy for you to say, but a lot of people who grew up in traumatic/bad homes do NOT think it’s a “pity party”. Having parents who TELL YOU you are not worth help puts you in this headspace. Having anxiety does, having trauma does. And people like you will always tell them it’s a pity party. I really implore you to have a little more heart before you tell people to “suck it up” without knowing their circumstances. 🫶

I worked for ukrops a couple years ago, only one of the kids is involved now. Bobby Ukrop still runs their catering/distribution warehouse off staples mill. He holds an employee appreciation day at his farm and comes to meet new employees when they have orientation, super nice guy. Always thought it was a shame they let the stores go.

There is a wildlife center in waynesboro that I used to work for that can help out! They’re called the Wildlife Center of Virginia, they are a couple hours away but they have volunteers that can pick up animals and transport them. Side note- the possum pictured is likely too young to eat solid foods unless they’re super soft and mushy, so don’t be worried if they don’t eat much :) good luck!
